  1. https://www.analogplanet.com/content/can-hagerman-audio-labs-humbucker-put-grado-cartridge-your-rega-turntable I thought this was interesting. I don't have a Grado cart (I have a Rega Elys 2) or a P3 (RP1), but I figured I'd try it to see what happens. $39 w/ free shipping. I'll update when I try it.
  2. ive been trying to decide which amp to buy and am looking for a little guidance... i have a Rega RP6. up until an hour ago i was going to buy the Elex-R. now im debating whether i should go with the Brio-R and use the money i save to get the headphone amp as well. also, im going to be getting RX3 speakers. thank you for helping me.
  3. Hey, first post here! Okay so basically me and my siblings are all chipping in together to get my Dad some new setup for Christmas. He's got hundreds of vinyl and his current setup is pretty poor. We've decided on a Rega RP1 as it seems pretty decent for the price. Anyway - was wondering if someone could give us some advice on whats needed? i.e. preamp or no preamp? also - what speakers would go well with this Rega model? Nothing overly expensive if possible but any suggestions are welcome. From UK so UK stockists would be ideal but no worries if not - just an idea of what is needed is good enough Cheers!
  4. So I was going to sell my Rega RP3 on here, but after half-assing it for a year I figured it was time I actually throw it on the 'Bay. I also threw my Rega Brio-R integrated amp and a Bluesound Pulse all-in-on streamer up there as well, so check out the links below if you're interested in any of them! Cheers! http://www.ebay.com/itm/171974978806?ss http://www.ebay.com/itm/171976356471?ss http://www.ebay.com/itm/171974972148?ss
  5. Hey guys, I'm getting ready to sell my RP3 (white) w/ Rega Exact cartridge. The table is two and a half years old, with the cartridge being about two years old. It should go unsaid, but I'll go ahead and say that everything works in flawless condition, and the cartridge is set up quite accurately. You would only have to pull the table out and set the counterweight and you're good to go with an incredible table. $650 (plus shipping) and it's yours.
  6. I appreciate I am a brand new member here, and so it is a little presumptuous to start with a question/advice without contributing first! That said if anyone can provide any, it would be greatly appreciated!! I have recently purchased a second hand Rega P2. As I understand it the best way to distinguish the model is that it had the straight tonearm (SB250 I believe?) and its model printed in green. It currently has an old revolver cartridge on it (no model number on it) and I want to upgrade this just to remove any worries in my mind that it may be damaging my records (I’m not 100% on how it sounds – hence my concern). I’m looking for a budget-ish replacement (ideally spending up to £50) for this. I have seen some recommendations elsewhere for ortofon cartridges at the higher end, which are a bit beyond my budget. I have also read that you have to be careful with this TT due to the weighting of the tonearm? (I thought this could be adjusted but just thought I would check). My set up (if it helps) is: Rega P2 Wharfdale 10.1 Cambride Audio A1 (MK1) Behringer PP400 Preamp Thanks in advance!
  7. Earlier this week I moved apartments, and of course the movers busted my turntable, box marked extremely fragile in bold red. It's a Rega P3. The top of the subplatter spindle, that the platter sits on top, broke off. I found some aftermarket ones and an original on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=291108250146&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en Does anyone know how complicated this is to switch out? It looks like just unscrewing the whole assembly until it comes out. I started to mess with it a little, but it didn't seem to be going anywhere. There's a gluey/oily tension which I guess is related to the bearing in that assembly. Worse comes to worst I'll take it to a shop and not risk doing further damage, but if I can save some money, that would be good. Thanks for the help!
  8. FYI...if anyone lives in the DFW area and is looking to get into a Rega turntable. This shop is accepting any turntable, working or not, and giving people $100 towards an RP1. I posted a link to the flyer below. Hopefully this will get a few Crosley's out of circulation... http://www.audioconceptsonline.com/recordstoreday2014.htm
  9. I've been looking around at the higher end (compared to the Debut) Pro-Ject and Rega turntables ($1,000 to $1,500) just for fun and I was wondering what people think of some of the models. I've been looking at the Pro-Ject RPM 5.1 and the Rega RP3. Anyone have some useful opinions/experience with these? Pros and cons of both? Are there any other tables in the same price range that I should be looking at? Just looking at nicer tables for future reference.
