  1. Got this news from my friend who work at local record shop. And now i saw it on ebay already. Music On Vinyl represses For Blood And Empire on 180gr red vinyl. Release date is 13th July. 180 gram audiophile vinyl Gatefold sleeve 8-page booklet First pressing of 1000 numbered copies on red transparent vinyl http://www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/anti-flag/for-blood-empire#.VX3sQbbgOoh The only place where i find this record now is - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Anti-Flag-For-Blood-Empire-RED-COLOURED-180g-vinyl-LP-PRE-SALE-NEW-SEALED-/261928846583? Probably, EU price will be something around 25-26 Euro.
  2. https://www.discogs.com/Say-Anything-Say-Anything/release/3630875 I'm looking to buy this box set. If you have it and are willing to part ways hit me up!
  3. Hey, So I got this record player about 10 years ago from a thrift store for about $10. Recently I grabbed it out of storage and started to put it to use. There are two issues I need to address with it; one there is a slight amount of static even after making sure the cartridge was clean along with the record and two the wire to the left analog speaker is faulty, meaning I sometimes need to jiggle it to get it to play. I have a preamp, just a cheap converter one from Amazon, and Edifier Bookshelf Speakers. So my question is, when do I know when I need to replace a cartridge? Also, should I replace the wire myself from the turntable to the premap to fix the fault in the wire and is it worth the hassle? I like the vintage style set up but I also don't want to waste my time if I should save up for something better. Thanks!
  4. I've had my Debut Carbon for a few years now, and I'm thinking about upgrading my setup. Here's what I have currently: Pro-Ject Debut Carbon (with the Ortofon 2M Red that it came with) -> Sony STR-AV320 (receiver with phono input) -> Sharp CP-BA2650 speakers (in Speaker A) and Bose Interaudio 2000 speakers (in Speaker B ) Everything besides the turntable was given to me for free or super cheap, so I'm looking to swap some of those parts out. The problem is that I don't know what the bottleneck in my setup is. Does anyone have any experiences with this receiver or these speakers? If so, where should I go from here? For amps, I've been looking at the Yamaha A-S501, Onkyo A-9050, Music Hall a15.3, and the Marantz PM5004 or 6005. I also have a TCC TC-750LC preamp that I got before I got the receiver. Would it be worth it to throw this into my setup now, or is it not going to have much of an effect? Thanks in advance!
  5. I was wondering if anyone had information on or preferences between the Sony TC-K45 and the Kenwood KX-W4070 cassette decks. I've found one of each of these around the same price and wanted to weigh my options. Thanks for your help!
  6. just snagged this guy and wow. this thing is amazing. super clear and powerful, and goes for very cheap resale. its rated at 130W Per but im thinking its closer to 100. Still powers these MTX AAL-2230s and Polk Monitor 60s very well. at under 100 dollars average resale, .08% Harmonic Distortion and a solid amount of inputs and outputs, this thing kicks ass. i highly recommend snagging one of these if you ever get the chance.
  7. Hey guys, I'm looking at a Sony PS-LX57 that a family member of mine owns, and I'm wondering if anyone knew anything about it. I did a load of searching around the forums and the only mention of it I saw was a guy asking a question about a similar turntable's stylus, so I hope I'm not committing any capital offense by starting this thread. [Fingers crossed] I'm currently using an Audio-Technica AT-PL50, which is probably doing my records more harm than good. It's run through some shit Panasonic stereo (SA-PM91D) and out through some equally shitty Panasonic speakers, which don't appear to even have a model name/number on them. The Audio-Technica has a built-in preamp, I think. So, for the low-low price of potentially free, I'd probably be doing myself a service by upgrading to the Sony. I had been thinking about saving up my money for a Debut Carbon, but if the Sony will suit my needs (basically spinning NOFX records), I can put that money toward a preamp, monitor, speakers, more NOFX records, whatever. Anybody have any thoughts or advice on this? Thanks in advance. If/when I upgrade, what sort of monitor should I go for, etc.
  8. So I was browsing around the internet for a new/used turntable for a decent price and stumbled up this: http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/ele/3661309217.html Seems like online reviews are alright for it. I want to make him an offer for just the turntable portion of it, but I have no idea what a good offer would be. I was thinking $100? Thoughts?
