Debut LP from Olympia's Clayface, available now for pre-order from Total Negativity synopsis: Every once in awhile you hear a record and know it is the record someone has been planning to make for a long time. Clayface’s Sister is Dead is one of those records. The Olympia band has been the brainchild of Jacob Estep for over four years, playing local shows here and there and cycling through various lineups, developing and growing into the sound that is in full display on Sister is Dead, their debut LP and first official release. Not post-punk, not dark, cold, or new-wave, just goth - plain and simple. Early Cure is the obvious comparison, masterfully combining the bitter, violent sadness of Pornography (in the album’s title track) and isolated loneliness of Faith (in its closing track, The Memorial). But far from remaining trapped in the worship of the classics, Sister is Dead has a unique sound that could only emerge from the rainy gloom of Olympia washington, where mournful dreariness emanates amidst epic beauty. Clayface delivers a powerful, story-telling concept album, replete with tragic, beautiful lyrics and instrumental motifs that carry their weight from song to song, building a tapesterial, crushing mass directly on the listener’s soul. listen here: https://clayfaceolympia.bandcamp.com/ pre-order here: http://totalnegativity.storenvy.com/products/18575992-clayface-sister-is-dead-lp

First LP from this flawless power pop band made up of members from all over New England. Endless hooks, ripping guitar solos, good lyrics. Pretty much just a fucking great rock and roll record. They just wrapped up a short west coast tour and will be touring the east in the coming months.
