I retired from work a few years ago and since that time I seriously started to catalog my recordings to a personal database (MS Access). I thought it might be of interest for some of you if I share certain recordings from time to time. Currently I'm busy with my 7-inch singles, now I'm with the character "S": ______________________________________________________________ Again a little beauty from my 7-inch singles cabinet, that I wanna share . . . 😇 'Nature's Way' / 'Stone Free' - Spirit (UK Illegal - IL007, 1978) original first English red label release The cover photos were taken by 'Jill Furmanovsky' a British photographer who's known for her work with rock musicians. The song on the A-side is a live version from their critically acclaimed art-rock album "Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus", with extended playing time. The flip-side is a cover of a well known 'Jimi Hendrix' song, alienated and also with extended duration. I don't have so many recordings by 'em, albums as well as singels, therefor I can't tell whether the 'Hendix' song cover was a non released track at that time. My Honours project - a documentary style short film about collectors of vinyl records. With this film I hope to shed light on the sentiments that come along with collecting physical records in a world where most music is now streamed or downloaded.

About a month back, I started blogging about the things I have learned since I began my journey into the world of vinyl. My girlfriend and I were getting sick, so she put a humidifier in our room apparently a little too close to my record shelf. Most of the jackets seem to be fine, but several of my records now have warped jackets. Is there any way to fix this problem? I would appreciate the advice. I have a decent amount of rare records, and this was a pretty big upset in addition to an already crappy week. Thanks again.

Heya. I thought it would be nice to open a new topic/thread to follow where people can post news on the latest vinyl releases coming out, and more in depth information on what is hot off the press, what is rare or hard to find, collectible releases, and wish lists on what we wish would be on vinyl. I often go vinyl digging and regularly visit a few vinyl stores on a weekly basis, so would be great to have a thread that keeps everyone updated on whats new! So far I have seen a reproduction of Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill come out recently on vinyl under the tag BEASTILL008 , also the new Beyonce - BEYONCE album under BEYBEYLP006, and yesterday R. Kelly - Black Panties out on a double LP which was quite exciting to see, on a clear type of vinyl, also limited it seems to 1000 LP's only. That seems to be searchable under RKELLYBLACK002 .
