PO: Masked Intruder - M.I. (out May 27th)

It's a fun album but it doesn't have that magical first kick of the other lp. I think it lacks an anthem or two. There is nothing like "stick em up" and it's sorely missed with all the ballad type songs on MI. Good record but I miss that variation.

I'm the opposite. "Stick em up" is the type of song I'm glad to see gone. This one is on par with s/t for me, really liking it.

That's exactly how I feel about this record

I'm loving the new album, but I can't disagree with this.  It also seems like most of the songs are either about forlorn love or being a criminal, but not both.  Part of the charm of the first album was the mashing together of the two topics.

I can get on board with this. Good point.

I respect the disagreement but damn, that is such a catchy song. I loved that they could straddle the pop-punk gamut but they really went down-tone on this one. Anyway, fun record that I'm glad to have but I thought this band was about to blow me away and that didn't happen either.

Overall, a pretty solid record.  I feel like it starts really strong and kinda loses momentum towards the end.  Also, felt they overdid the ultra-layered background vocal choruses a wee bit.  Could have been produced to be just a bit edgier, but that might just be my taste.

I get it, just lyrically I guess it's where the novelty wears off on me. I'm not offended by it, or calling the PC police, or anything like that, "I got a knife motherfucker stick'em up!" just grates on me for whatever reason.

I prefer them as non-violent criminals I suppose.
