planetrakis
Yes, Plain sucked. The name was truly apropos, and that concept didn't work lol. Stoked to hear this, now if we could just get a MOV pressing plant stateside!
xadamhudsonx
Was just at a local shop yesterday and they had both the S/T and California from the previous repress for $18 a piece. Anybody wants em', swing by Burger Records in Anaheim.
faithnolife
Nobody wants em. Because they're on Plain.
Rip
What does "plain" mean when it comes to these?
Guest deleted
What does "plain" mean when it comes to these? Plain with a capital P (proper noun). It's a record company.
Rip
Oh, haha. Well what's wrong with them? Do they sound bad or something?
harley
This is the best Mr. Bungle album.
kevbayer
I was listening to my Plain version of DV (which is there best album) the other day.....and was really sad that it sounded so shitty, so this is a welcome surprise.
Guest deleted
^^^ Agree that Disco Volante is their best album. California is a close 2nd though, and may be slightly more accessible for the new Mr. Bungle listener. Both fantastic albums.

mameeshkamowskwoz
I find it impossible to pick a best Bungle album.Even the various non-album tracks are amazing (Spy and Cold Sore from DV era and Mr. Nice Guy, Bloody Mary and Definitions of Shapes from the first album era to name a few) ...although I'm obviously partial to Disco Volante

gumbercules
Got mine from juno.co.uk today. Apparently "please ship record outside jacket" means throw away the MOV resealable poly bag and leave the record in the jacket, resulting in a 2-inch seam split. It does sound leagues better than the Plain Recordings shitfest. faithnolife
faithnolife
Good to hear it sounds better than the Plain. Sucks about that seam split, though. Never had that issue with Juno. In fact I think when I asked them to do the same, mine came still in the MOV poly bag plus another one outside
gumbercules
Yeah, I'm surprised too. I ordered all the FNM MOV reissues through them and had no problems. Probably a new guy in the packing warehouse or something.

They're not super durable by any stretch by it's way better than shrink wrap or whatever sleeves are sealed in are called.

tonyfranciosa
Huge improvement over the Plain record. It just sounds beefier. I just threw the Plain LP on the BBQ. tetsuodaironman
