Can any beautiful soul out there tell me where to get the Erased Tapes LP version of AWVFTS S/T in the United States? I hear their pressings are better than Kranky, so I want to try that out.

Your best bet would be Importcds.com just make sure u pick the one that is erased tapes they should have both... If they don't have it really gonna have to search! But there's always ordering direct from ET as I did but that was for the clear, and came to like $55

These were just pulled from google images....The blue part is a textured fabric, where as the red is a thick lightly textured cardboard....it has two printed inner sleeves with really nice paintings and track list info.... all Sonic Pieces are the same packaging just different color schemes and insert artwork...

I am going to do a short run of posts centered around ambient Labels. I feel that most ambient/experimental labels are fairly consistent across releases. That being said, if you like 1 artist you are bound to like a few more on a given label. To help people out to find new artists I will post fairly regularly solid labels I really enjoy! To kick things off lets start with, THREE labels. Here we go!!! (also its pretty darn common among all these labels to find 1 artist releasing albums on the many different labels)

Hibernate ( http://hibernate-recs.co.uk) This UK label has put out many beautiful albums, primarily in CD format, but do have few vinyl releases. Key Artists include; Olan Mill, Ian Hawgood, Storm Noir, Field Rotation, Felicia Atkinson, Wil Bolton, Memory Drawings and Simon Bainton. Have a listen: https://hibernate.bandcamp.com/merch

Flau ( http://www.flau.jp/artists.html) The Japanese label is more diverse than most ambient teams. Venturing into fields such as dream-pop, electronic, classical, drones, ambient, and experimental. They rarely put out a bad album. Several Key Artists include: Cuushe, Part Timer, The Boats, Danny Norbury, SELA, Neon Cloud, Orla Wren, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and  Masayoshi Fujita

Listen for yourself: https://flau.bandcamp.com

Unknown Tone Records ( http://www.unknowntonerecords.com) A husband and wife run, Oklahoma based label that sticks to ambient, experimental and noise. You can find several amazing albums, however this label tends to have some albums that fall off the wagon a bit. Regardless there are several Key Artists such as; Sima Kim, Dylan Golden Aycock, Porya Hatami, Monolyth & Colbolt, Maps and Diagrams and Atlantis. Go open your ears at: https://unknowntonerecords.bandcamp.com

I hope you guys find some new tunes to enjoy...I want to keep this thread alive and healthy as its been, so anyone may feel free to leave feedback, questions or let us know an Album (or 2) you really enjoy related to the above!

...Happy Hunting...

I credit Hibernate (and more accurately, the sister label Rural Colours) as getting me into ambient/experimental music :)

I don't mean to advertise in here but it's the right place...

Arms and Sleepers fans.. their first album Cinematique is a classic. Bought a 3 pack that had all the variants and I only wanted one, so I have two extras to sell (/200 and /75) and I'm selling them for cheaper than you can get anywhere else. PM me if you're interested

http://www.earthkeptwarm.com/the-imitation-archive/

"The Imitation Archive is 34 minutes of computer glitch, crunch, hiss and whir that commemorates 70 years of computing, produced at the birthplace of computing, Bletchley Park."

Hoping that some label presses that release. Heard about it on NPR. It's free to download.

Second dose of ambient Labels:

Dronavium: This label is in my top 3 of ambient labels. Hailing from Moscow, they have put out spectacular release after release. The most current release, by Olan Mill (Cavade Morlem) is a stunner! And I its still for sale. Almost every single Dronavium physical release is sold out! No vinyl yet but with releases like these buying  a CD is tempting.

Key Artists; Olan Mill, Caught In The Wake Forever, Pillowdiver, The Green Kingdom, Marsen Jules and Sima Kim.

Start with their fantastic compilation: (15 Shades of White) the best ambient comp I've ever heard! https://dronarivm.bandcamp.com/album/15-shades-of-white

Listen Here: https://dronarivm.bandcamp.com

Eilean Records: (?) the label is based on a map with 100 points. each point is associated to a number. each number to a release.

Sadly, every single release is SOLD OUT! I was lucky enough to snag the Aaron Martin album, but what does that say about the label? CDs only again, but pretty well made ones at that! Some of the best ambient/classical out their...

Key Artists: Aaron Martin, Twigs & Yarn, Pascal Savy, James Murry, Danny Clay and Spheruleus

Listen Here: https://eileanrec.bandcamp.com

Students of Decay: (USA) Some of you may be aware of these guys. Some real nice experimental stuff being put out. They press VINYL thank god, and even do special editions once in a blue moon!

Key Artists: Kyle Bobby Dunn, Marble Sky, Alex Cobb, *Secret Pyramid*, Aquarelle and Bryter Layter

They have a nice set up for their website with sample songs next to the description! I believe everything gets a vinyl pressing (except 1) so if your looking for a vinyl ambient label you've found your home!

Check them out: http://studentsofdecay.com

Listen: https://soundcloud.com/studentsofdecay

Go explore my friends!!! I would recommend starting with the 15 Shades compilation as well as Secret Pyramid on SOD...
