PO NOW: Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) - You Will Eventually Be Forgotten

Recommended Posts

the plates were damaged, at this point there really aren't any plans

this by the way isn't really true. I talked to Keith about this on their  Euro tour this spring. He told me that technically they CAN repress the album. It's more a question of money at this point, he said that they'd more likely put money into other new releases rather than repressing the first LP. A pity for all those who missed out since of course it's one of the best emo records ever and a stellar release (I was very lucky to get a copy for retail price in Germany when I started collecting vinyl 2,5 or so years ago).

Of course they CAN press it, but with needing new plates it's more expensive than just doing a standard repress. Just going off their replies to questions about it on tumblr over the past year or so, I'd say it's going to happen eventually. Especially if the new album sells well. The lower the risk of it not selling well, the better the chances are that they will put the money into it again.

They posted on Facebook saying they have no current plans to repress What it Takes.

FTFY. That's been their stance for a while. Why would they be concerned with repressing their last album when they are working on a new album? I've seen them answer that question plenty of times and never have they said "nope no chance never happening". Like I said before, if the demand is there and it makes sense financially then they will get around to it.

They've posted lyrics for the first two songs so far:

"Ribbon"

I nearly lost you on our wedding day

It was early afternoon, and you were leaving from lunch with your best friend
when your vehicle careened into an SUV as it turned out in front of you,
violently flinging you into the waiting airbag

You were shaken and dazed,
but otherwise ok

and still determined to get married

When I watched you walking down the aisle,
you were glowing

The scrapes and bruises only made you more beautiful

"I Was Somewhere Cold, Dark... and Lonely"

I almost died at twenty-one

In January, driving northbound on Abbott Rd
the car in front of us slammed their brakes down hard
and slid off onto the right-hand shoulder

We were probably following too close,
but I honestly can't remember

We swerved into the turn lane
and lost control when we hit a patch of black ice
that would carry us right into the unavoidable path
of a Saturn barreling south in the opposite direction

My life did not flash before my eyes

I was trying to steer the van anywhere else
as time ground to a halt and froze

Then exploded violently
as metal collapsed into metal
at a horrific speed

There is always enough time to do the things you love
(until it's gone)

So goddamn depressing and I love it so much.

It looks like it's back in stock to me, go get it!

You can add it to the cart, but that's as far as you can get. I'm not a huge variant guy in general but this would've been cool to have. Excited for the splatter nonetheless.

Let's talk variants for E!E!-

I'm feeling a Clear w/Blue and Pink Splatter /100. Seems like that would go with the artwork well.
