"I would like to commend the scene for coming together on this issue, and taking such quick action when it comes to confronting transphobia. I know that I have a long way to go in terms of earning back the trust of our former friends and fans. I wholeheartedly accept that challenge."

This comment blows my mind.

The labels they were on and the other bands on said labels ignored their bigotry until they crossed a line and there was some controversy. Comments posted in this very thread show that the label previously supported this bands bigotry (there was even that Run For Cover promo video where the guy made weird racist comments). Why were they EVER okay working with bigots in the first place? I know people can grow and change their minds about things, but why did it take Jake Fogelnest and Katie Crutchfield weighing in and a huge twitter controversy for the claims of this bands bigotry to be taken seriously?
