Chuck Shivers
i just ordered....the $7+ shipping is f'n stupid though I agree completely. Making a profit of shipping makes me sick.
chimpkin
I'm not sure they are making profit on shipping. They just aren't offering media mail. UPS ground or USPS three day select are the cheapest options. At least the lp is only $15. deletedunknown
Chuck Shivers
Sub Pop is also the only label I know of that charges their customers 'handling fees' for ordering their releases. That's just poor form right there.
ratbrain
they also pack their orders better than 90% of the labels out there, so at least there's that. deletedunknown
kevbayer
I would have rather paid 17 for the record and 5 for the shippng....same amount in the end, just doesnt make me feel like i am getting abused. Chuck Shivers and natenomm
Benny Blanco
The ultra limited Gold vinyl (500?) available only through rocket recordings is £31 !!!! it does come with exclusive 7" and CD - Wonder if this is the same 7" as the sub pop loser issue ? Also one would assume that at £31 it'll be a double vinyl ?

Also one would assume that at £31 it'll be a double vinyl ? The Rocket Recordings site says £31.99. Click on the link to Cargo and they say £32.99. Email I got from Cargo confirms 500. There's a black on the Cargo site for £15.99 Also, there's an indies only (unspecified) colour with 7". Norman are selling it for £15.99. http://cargorecordsdirect.co.uk/products/goat?mc_cid=85425803d8&mc_eid=8fcfab21ec http://cargorecordsdirect.co.uk/products/goat-1 http://www.normanrecords.com/records/148433-goat-commune- Mourning Wood and CaptainHerbalLife
Benny Blanco
So what makes the gold so special to be over twice the price of the regular issue ? Can't be the bonus 7". it must be on 2 discs, thats the only way I can see them justifying that price tag ? maybe gatefold sleeve etc... As I'm UK I'll order the Gold but for those in the States its going to work out at like $65-70 with shipping !!!

As I'm UK I'll order the Gold but for those in the States its going to work out at like $65-70 with shipping !!! I have a feeling it'll be just one record. The price is because they think people will pay it, mostly based on how much Live Ballroom Ritual 1st presses go for. The Sub Pop Loser edition is only £20 including shipping to the UK. Or they could take a page from In The Red. If ITR says a LP is $15, that how much it costs to buy the album and have it delivered. No need to screw anybody. More reason (if any were needed) not to buy.

sciencekiller
The Swedish label also has limited versions. https://www.bengans.se/popup/goat/ A 5x7" boxset with a bonus track (no clue if it's the same as one of the Sub Pop or Rocket bonus tracks) and a version with a limited edition cover. 200 designs will be chosen by the band from a contest (see their Facebook for details) and each of the 200 versions will get a different cover. CaptainHerbalLife
Wow. Just gave the album a listen and I'm liking it a lot more than World Music. I'm confused though. The Sub Pop version and the one that's one Norman are both supposed to be on red/blue wax but one is splattered and the others is translucen so I'd assume they're different variants, right? One is by Rocket recordings and the other is on Sub Pop, no?
