Shoegaze/Dream Pop Thread

Recommended Posts

if any Ringo Deathstarr fans are interested, got to see them this weekend (and fanboy some autographs, such nice folks - Alex really is 5'11"), and they played 6 new tracks. Without spoiling, each one to me got better and better until the closer.  I was hoping they would encore "Nowhere", but not meant to be.  I posted the set list:

**Totally** buying the heck out of the new album, which Elliot said will happen, he just doesn't know with whom yet.

Also re: RP of Sparkler and Colour Trip for US fans to hot have to pay a tonne on shipping, there is still some uncertainty there.  Lastly, there is one more /100 Raspberry Ripple on the 'baY for $39.99 as of a couple hours ago (no vested interest in that listing).

  • 2 weeks later...

On the youtube page where  LSD... S/T resides is an album from 1992 just uploaded this year: "Susurrate" by Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa.

Any of you chasing this white whale on vinyl? (no way for me, but when you see 18 Haves/ 140 Wants, I get curious). Terrific old school shoegaze from the Czech republic.

(can't get the YT to embed anymore, apologies)

To be honest, I'm not reading through 24 pages to see which bands have been mentioned so will keep off the obvious ones!

I expect Fade have probably had a mention, but I'd be very surprised if UK band Debris Slide have:

Recently released an LP limited to just 100 copies, and to plug my store I have a few left in stock!

http://differentkitchen.bigcartel.com/product/debris-slide-araido-lp-only-100-copies-pressed

also includes a link to there band camp page, where they also have a (digital only) EP of lo-fi Weezer covers!!

does anyone know what happened to the band Swan Dive (brandon of Nothing)? they put out a 7" two years ago and haven't been active since.

Brandon has been pretty busy w/ Nothing. Not only touring but recording. So safe to assume that he hasn't much time for Swan Dive. It'd ben awesome to hear more from them though.

To me, the EOST Peel Sessions "fluidtrance centauri" is even better..that is a 10" that is not leaving my collection anytime soon

Just checked this out - really enjoyed the Peel session and listened to the studio version of the 3 tracks as well.  Some longer instrumental sections well placed, traditional shoegaze, and then some uptempo beats, a little bit of everything.

Shipping from across the Pond with this shoegaze / dreampop mistress is killer. Will have to be happy with streaming for awhile...

I am chasing that "Pigment" EP. Literally my white whale. One of my alltime-favourite EPs. I can't even find MP3s of this record so I have to listen to the youtube video all the time.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Liz Harris of Groupers fame has a dream-pop band now. This is bound to be great.

Exclusive Stream: Nostalgist Of Loves and Days Ago Album

http://www.ghostcultmag.com/exclusive-stream-nostalgist-of-loves-and-days-ago-album/

Led by Asa Eisenhardt on vocals and guitar, Nostalgist also counts Connor Keogh on bass and Mark Knowles on drums in their ranks. Formed in late 2012, Or Loves and Days Ago is the follow up to 2013’s acclaimed Monochromatic EP, which featured Nick Bassett (Whirr, Nothing, Deafheaven) on lead guitar and engineered/mixed/mastered by Jack Shirley.
