paralyticstalks 107 Report post Posted July 3, 2014 Just wanted to add that I pre-ordered The Bilinda Butchers' "Heaven" the other day. $20 is a bit high for a single LP, but I guess it's a bit understandable since there were only 250 copies pressed. I usually like to listen to a whole album before deciding on whether to buy it, but I'm taking a gamble with this one. Hope I don't regret it. If anyone's interested: http://orchidtapes.bigcartel.com/product/the-bilinda-butchers-heaven http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa_exooTYKo I back this suggestion 100% the bbs never fail. ptrsev 97 Report post Posted July 3, 2014 I'd also recommend albums by Catherine Wheel but they haven't been reissued. Original pressings shouldn't cost more than $40. Good luck finding a copy of "Chrome" for $40. I had a massive crush on Miki! You were not alone, haha. I still pull out the early Ride EPs. They look great and still sound good to me. Everything pre-Blank is top notch, post-Blank not so much. Going Blank Again era stuff is pretty great though. Danh 5 Report post Posted July 3, 2014 Don't know if it matters, but I changed this to a shoegaze/dream pop thread. I pretty much got what I needed from this thread, and the discussion derailed a bit (not in a bad way). Anyone is welcome to discuss whatever they want about the genre. Once again, thanks for all the helpful responses.
Danh 5 Report post Posted July 3, 2014 Japanese Shoegaze band. I really hope they would print stuff on vinyl. Not sure if they're known on here, but check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkBIb_ElLRQ 1 ajismetal reacted to this

Danh 5 Report post Posted July 3, 2014 Anyone wanna rec some darker/heavier takes on shoegaze? Released this year preferably? And not Guilty of Everything, please. You might roll your eyes when I mention this, but I thought Whirr's "Around" EP was a bit dark. Well, at least a bit darker than what they've previously released. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQznWILpg7A Edit: Whoops, forgot this was released in 2013. Neanderthal 73 Report post Posted July 4, 2014 You might roll your eyes when I mention this, but I thought Whirr's "Around" EP was a bit dark. Well, at least a bit darker than what they've previously released. I did roll my eyes at first, but I found that to be enjoyable. So thanks for that! Idk, I guess I'm just looking for more artists like HANL and PfB cause I've played both those records so many times this year already. No one else touches em, imo.
