whoa
BITCH FALCON https://bitchfalcon.bandcamp.com/album/staring-at-clocks Yes that's a band name. And it's a bloody neato album for a trio with such a huge sound. I sometimes got a bit of Marriages vibes from the singer, but less gloom more bloom in its more upbeat, yet somber approach. Incredible album. I've had it on repeat since this weekend.
drds89
I can hear ERR style vocals in some of the tracks. I almost bailed after the first 3 tracks, but 4 on seemed to get better and better to my ears. Hope they gain some traction.
OneThreeOneTwo
Thanks for the Bitch Falcon heads-up. After the second track, I was sold. Far better band than that over-hyped Porridge Radio, anyway. Edited November 11, 2020 by OneThreeOneTwo whoa
TheScottishSurgeons
Another thanks for Bitch Falcon, on the back of listening to a bunch of songs last night I ordered the orange vinyl lp off bandcamp whoa

holyvacantsholyhell
I don’t *think* this has been mentioned anywhere, but King Hannah’s debut EP comes out next Friday 11/20 and I think it’s gonna be goooooood based on the two singles. Heavy Sharon Van Etten/Mazzy Star/Twin Peaks vibes. PO here- https://kinghannah.bandcamp.com/releases Also up on bullmoose for US- https://www.bullmoose.com/pid/34838635/king-hannah-tell-me-your-mind-ill-tell-you-mine-lp-black-vinyl-w-download-card Edited November 13, 2020 by holyvacantsholyhell whoa and Mars
TheWindBlower
Can any of the shoegaze homies in here make a couple recommendations for me? Maybe @jhulud? Looking for something like Nothing but with deeper/rougher/darker vocals. Anything good that comes to mind?
OneThreeOneTwo
You might like the band Lacing. Not sure if the vocals are darker or whatever, but they're heavy shoegaze too. drds89, TheWindBlower and jrodan
OneThreeOneTwo
I normally don't care much about Bandcamp's AotD recommendations, but today's is a one-woman op called Hachiku from Australia and her music is rad. https://hachikumusic.bandcamp.com/album/ill-probably-be-asleep Definitely dream-pop, and moreso the lo-fi bedroom pop end of things. One of her live performances on YT has here covering The Cranberries' "Dreams" to perfection.

mrewest
Outlander should definitely be mentioned as well. Big, gigantic, downtempo deliciousness. Minimal vocals tho. Both albums are fantastic.

I’ve been banging my head against the wall to think of other bands that fit this sound. The others mentioned have been good suggestions. Check out Nostalgist. Their sound is more akin to post-goth & darkwave but may be in line as well. TheWindBlower
