PO: HAVE A NICE LIFE - DEATHCONSCIOUSNESS RE-ISSUE

Recommended Posts

Well. The Unnatural World dropped at around 4pm when it did. Sooooooo...maybe same thing?

I'm going to assume that as it gets closer to day of, Flenser will post on Twitter or FB the time.

I'd hope so.  And that was around 4:00 EST, right?  I have a full shift that starts around 05:00 PM EST and would love to wrap this thing up before starting the work-day.  I guess we'll just wait and see.  Hope there are plenty to go around for everyone.

And from The Flenser's site:

The album is scheduled for release September 17th. We intend to ship pre-orders by that date. However, delays can happen and the release date could be pushed back. Thank you for your patience.

The reissue of Deathconsciousness will come in a thick case-wrapped gatefold jacket. The jacket features a new layout by Niels Geybels with some additional text by the band. All variations of the album come with the 70+ page zine made from the same files as earlier editions. The lacquers were cut by Dave at Lucky Lacquers. This is a much louder and more dynamic cut than the previous issue of the album.

The album will be released in four configurations:

Standard weight black vinyl
180 gram black vinyl (limited to 500 copies)
Green vinyl (limited to 400 copies)
White vinyl (limited to 300 copies)

Thanks for the info, updated my post. Probably going for that 180 Grams even though shipping will be a beast.

Is there any possible way this album could fit on a single LP?

16 2/3 rpm.  I had one back in the day. And my TT did 16 2/3, 33 1/3, 45 and 78.

edit: that would school Jack White, too.  I will have to ask my folks, but I believe it was the Three Stooges reading a story, or something along those lines. It was always fun to play 33's at the lower and higher speeds. That was what we did for kicks.

iirc 180gm won't change the sound quality on this, please correct me if I'm wrong (based upon original masters issue)

That is correct.  180 gram is just a bit thicker and sturdier, so it's less prone to warping.  (It's just as susceptible to scratches and other damage, though.)  The grooves are just as deep as a standard press, and consequently they sound the same.  Anyone insisting otherwise is either justifying the extra spike in price, or is very open to the placebo effect.
