LIGMA_BALLZ
Anyone have any experience with vintage "dual" brand turntables. Right now my local shop has an automatic dual 1257 turntable for $60. I'm kinda tired of my manual sony ps-lx350h. Anyone have any experience with these?
kurtz
I have an old Dual 504 that I use as my secondary turntable. It's a decent table. The plastic they used to make it though is a little chintzy. And from what I've read that was common with all of their turntables at that time. I haven't had any problems with mine though. I don't know if that price is good or not. I picked my Dual up for like 10 bucks at a thrift store.
ajxd
Duals are hit or miss, especially the 1200 series. See if they'll give you a "trial" period or a demo.
dethrock
chintzy Totally off topic, but I've never actually seen this word spelled out before and I would have no idea how to spell it. Thanks!

Most Duals are pretty reliable if a little workmanlike and most have some strange cartridge mounts. It might be a bit of an improvement over your Sony if it's all in good working order but I'd want to haggle on that price.
McCandless
I have a Dual CS 505-3 which was a hand me down from my parents. So far no trouble and sounds good enough for what I need.
OrangeJoe
I used to have a dual 601, it was a solid unit.
