There are some really great songs on there and some real fucking duds. Namely, that stupid ass "ping pong ping pong" song and like the last 4 tracks.

Think Long is one of their greatest songs....There isn't a single "dud" on there in my opinion. And songs like Sin Gun Chaser are some of their best, too. Different strokes I guess, but that is easily their greatest material to me. Seriously, I can't speak highly enough of that album or that "stupid ass ping pong ping pong song."

Edit: I know it's a totally unpopular opinion but I would go as far as to say it's my favorite from them and in my top 5 favorite albums ever.

Sorry, i was probably a bit harsh in my assessment. i just hate the ping pong part

Ah no worries, I can understand not liking it but just get amped up when I have an opportunity to defend it or express my love for it. The album probably grew on me a lot.

From Newbury...

Happy to announce we're teaming with Fat Possum to release our first country record... Townes Van Zandt's 'Live at the Old Quarter, Houston, Texas' on clear vinyl.

If you're familiar with Townes, you know what a powerful record this is. If you aren't, there's no better place to start investigating his work. Just Townes and his guitar, bewitching all in attendance at this sweltering (the a/c was down!) Houston club back in the Summer of 1973 with his peerless songs and banter.

This 180-gram double-lp is limited to only 500 copies and comes with a digital download.

Out on 9/23 and available for pre-order now.

More exclusive LPs on the way from The Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix, Modest Mouse and many (many) more... keep in touch!

Cheers,
Carl

Guess we found the limited colors

Whoops, my bad yo!

It's wrong link....they do have a Modest Mouse slipmat...trying to decide if I need it now....

You do.

Wrong thread. Otherwise wrong link.

Yeah, copying shortcuts is a bad idea. Plus the internet is tough.

All's corrected now, thanks for the heads up!
