They are better than a different band. I do have fond memories of listening to 'Dig Me Out' ten years ago, but wasn't into any of their other albums. When the boxset was announced couple weeks ago, I took it as an opportunity to listen to their albums again and I didn't enjoy any of it. This time around even 'Dig Me Out' sucked for me Not to hate on this band in any way, they are decent musicians/songwriters and presumably fun people to be around, but it's not for me to throw money at. Essentially the vocals, the music and the lyrics. Seriously though, the whole package that is Sleater-Kinney doesn't do anything for me. It's neither emotional, nor fun or interesting to listen to. I was expecting some kind of nostalgic 'good ol' times' fun factor when I listened to some stuff again, but there was nothing. Except me being slightly annoyed by Sleater-Kinney. However, there are some SK tracks that are pretty hard to dislike..."you're no rock and roll fun" comes to mind. If there are early doubters based on their first few records but haven't yet made the leap, I would STRONGLY suggest giving The Woods a good listen.
