I just got this in the mail today and realized there was no topic started for it, so:

Teen Death - Crawling 7"

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, TEEN DEATH have quickly made a name for themselves as one of the bands to watch calling this thriving scene home. BrooklynVegan described them best, saying "Teen Death sound like they've thrown Nirvana, Weezer, and Dillinger Four into a blender..." They pack the punk punch, yet maintain an infectious sense of melody, all layered over with a great grungy vibe. While relatively unknown, it's not uncommon for a crowd of back-of-the-room beer-sippers to make their way to the front after TEEN DEATH wail through their first song, making it nearly impossible not to bob your head along.

heh "crowd of back-of-the-room beer-sippers to make their way to the front after TEEN DEATH wail through their first song". that describes exactly how i discovered Nothington at a Drag the River show. When they played "where i stand"

"friends" is certainly "Weezer-esque" to say the least

I'm on the 6131 Records mailing list and they posted something about this release a while back. The description mentioned Nirvana and Weezer, so I gave both songs a listen. I dug 'em both so I decided to pick it up.

I've listened to it 6 times in a row (no lie) at my desk since it showed up and I'm really enjoying it. The distorted guitars and dragged out vocals are present on all 6 tracks, and I mean that in a good way. Made me nostalgic and pumped for something new at the same time.

Glad I picked it up.
