Awesome Goodwill Finds

Recommended Posts

Picked up a 12" of Snow - Informer for fifty cents and flipped it for 12 bucks on Discogs. Was still in shrink and looked unplayed. That's all I got recently for you. My local Goodwills suck, but I did snipe a legit kid's drumset over the weekend when someone was donating at the same time as me. The wife was... surprised?

Hate to do this to those of you who don't have good luck with thrift stores, but I've been hitting that one with the good score a lot lately hoping for more from the same batch to come out and today I got first presses of Pink  Floyd - Animals, and The Wall, Led Zep - The Song Remains the Same, and Queen - News of the World (and Kansas Leftoverture because I didn't have a copy, but it's nothing special).

Found a copy of New Found Glory's "Nothing Gold Can Stay" 1st press on yellow at a Value Village several weeks ago. Not a huge NFG fan, but I'm not complaining after seeing the average price on Discogs haha.

Dang. Literally just bought that album for $25 and I thought I got a great deal. Good find!

Take it off your hands for more

than you bought it but less than eBay/Discogs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So...Tuesday I had another good day at Goodwill (a different one, one I don't usually get out to) mostly older rock stuff, but some other really fun stuff too. Some stuff was just to get a little bit nicer copies of other stuff I had.

Donovan - Barabajagal

Laurie Anderson - Big Science

Roxy Music - Flesh + Blood

Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain

Pop-O-Pies - The White EP

Martha and the Muffins M+M - Danseparc

Earth, Wind & Fire - I Am

Eagles - Desperado

The Who - A Quick One (Happy Jack)/The Who Sell Out

The Moody Blues - On The Threshold of a Dream

Most exciting things though were this one (and of course the Miles Davis): https://www.discogs.com/Lonnie-Liston-Smith-The-Cosmic-Echoes-Visions-Of-A-New-World/release/1965674

and I got a copy of the full series of Cowboy Bebop on Blu-ray for $4!

Couple more sweet Goodwill finds today:

Edit: ugh, having issues posting the photo. Anyway, best bits were a blue marbled The Mr. T Experience - Love is Dead, and a white copy of The Jazz June - The Boom, The Motion and The Music.

Caught Savers slippin. This was behind a Sublime album in a glass case so I didn't even notice it at first. I saw the thick binding so I had to check it out. The packaging on this is amazing. I don't even listen to them but it's my girlfriend's favorite band and she loves puzzles so it's perfect. I told her I got her something "pretty odd" from Savers  but that can be just about anything from a thrift store so she has no idea.

Woohoo my day has come. Nothing monumental, but found a 2002 press of Cash IV for $3.29 at Goodwill today. Cleaned some smudges, has a very slight warp, but sounds great. My vinyl budget has been almost nonexistent lately, but that I could justify.

Killed it at Goodwill today on some classic rock stuff and a few bonuses.

Eddie Kendricks - Goin Up In Smoke

George Harrison - S/T

John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Ban - Some Time In New York City

Blondie - S/T

The Doors - The Soft Parade

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Street Survivors (promo)

Beach Boys - L.A.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (can never pass this album up for some reason.)

Frank Sinatra - Come Fly With Me

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

R.E.M. - Murmur (1st press)

Thin Lizzy - Black Rose

Bob Dylan - Knocked Out Loaded

Bob Dylan - Empire Burlesque

Bob Dylan - Street Legal

Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness First Finale

Stevie Wonder - Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants

Led Zeppelin - Untitled

Led Zeppelin - Presence

Jimmy Page- Special Early Works Featuring Sonny Boy Williamson

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Pink Floyd - The Wall

James Brown - Grits and Soul

Paul Simon - Graceland

Fleetwood Mac - Bare Trees

and my favorite for the day Mils Davis - In A Silent Way

I cut it down from about 50 albums to the above listed. Accidentally gave away the better looking copy of The Doors Waiting on the Sun to another guy digging, so ended up passing on the gnarly copy I kept for myself.
