I placed a seperate order for misc. records I've put off buying for a while. Also did the math and everything I have ordered so far seems to be 35 - 41% off retail with the code, not bad at all! Arrived yesterday. $71 for 5 records; had to pay just under $20 CAD brokerage fee (UPS), which is not great, but I've been dinged a lot worse with orders from the US. I was kind of amazed at how fast it all came. They also had one LP temporarily out of stock. I'm very curious as to if it will ever ship, and what kind of expense it may incur (the album is New Pornographers' Twin Cinema, which is in print via Matador, so they may well get it soon). I am a glutton for punishment... I currently have an open Paypal claim for $135 with Deepdiscount (asked them to cancel an order and have been waiting on the refund since Oct 6). I placed 2 pretty large orders (one for $175 and one for $130). The prices are worth the potential headache. I used my credit card for these orders since they only charge once they ship, my bad for using Paypal on my previous Deepdiscount order. I'm double checking on this with them but, if it's true, I'm about to place a massive order with several different ship dates (on which they'll surely lose money in shipping and probably wholesale cost). I just received another shipping confirmation that 1 more album from that order shipped. They did not charge any additional shipping. I work for a toy and game company and have an idea as to what they do. They stock everything they can and sell it at low prices. Sometimes they make money on records, sometimes they break even, and in some cases they might even lose a small amount. It's a gamble, but most of the time they make money, not a lot, but when you get a ton of orders it ads up. A lot of Amazon only businesses use the same tactics. In this case they don't make as much b/c of the coupon, but typically when they don't offer that they're able to make more off of these orders even when fulfilling them in multiple shipments. mesi Posted October 24, 2014 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Just a heads up to non-US buyers: Past a certain weight (my order is 9 LPs) ccmusic stops shipping stuff out DHL/Global Mail and uses courier delivery services. So customs brokerage will be done by that company, I called to check and ccmusic did NOT note on the package how much (or rather little) shipping you paid. In order to avoid ridiculous taxes, you best contact the courier service and send them your receipt. As an example, I once got a package via UPS for which I paid $40+ $18 shipping. But as the seller did not note how much shipping I paid, UPS went ahead and charged taxes for $160 shipping, resulting in ridiculous taxes I had to pay with no way of changing it. One of the records I ordered has a dent in the corner, but that's the only issue I could find.
