FatSheap1
I'm looking to start thinning down my vinyl collection, but I don't have the time to deal with eBay in terms of packaging and all the trips to the post office. Is there any record store in Nashville that actually knows their stuff and would pay decent prices, or any users in the area that can help me start unloading? I have a huge variety that has quite a few gems (Coheed, AOF, blink, +44, Saves the Day, etc.) Thank to everyone in advance!
HybridxReality
I've never sold to any record stores before, but I'm sure there's some that won't give you a whole lot for. COULD BE WRONG, but if you're looking for good prices for your vinyl, eBay or here would be your best bet. But that does require you to go to the post office. Again, could be wrong, but I see it like a pawn shop. They're probably going to lowball you. Unless you find a good record store that knows the value of some records. Not sure. HybridxReality
I'm inexperienced in this area. Could be totally wrong.
FatSheap1
Yeah Im sure of that as well. I might sell the more sought after ones on eBay (In Reverie, AOF Boxset). I don't have time for my hobby anymore so as much as it sucks, it's time to start thinking out.
HybridxReality
You could try selling some on here! People usually don't lowball you on here. If you have a set price, they'll usually respect that price (unless you want a ridiculous price). Then they'll just give you shit for it (me included) lol. People do check the sale thread for good deals, so keep that in mind. If you want those high prices that eBay sells certain items for, just head to eBay. But there's some good people on here that are good buyers. I GUARANTEE you'll sell Coheed super quick. Especially OG press.

One Hundred Fifty-Two
Will a record store give you anywhere near what you are looking for? No. Is it much easier to go to a record store and dump everything at once? Yes. This is the trade off that only you can determine. +hecollec+or and hudsoncomplex
stl_ben
Great record stores in Nashville (Groove, Found OBject, Grimeys) ...but one the stuff you listed wouldn't be Highly valuable to them and as mentioned before they buy low because they have to be able to make a profit when they sell it. stl_ben
Also...I hope to be in Nashville this weekend...I would probably pay $10 an LP for the stuff you mentioned (and yes that is more than the record store most likely.)
khaotix
Check out Grimeys, and The Groove. Probably your best bets. stl_ben
One Hundred Fifty-Two
For "good" lps look for 4-6 dollars a piece from a record store. Those will be sold by them for 15-20 dollars each. For "normal" lps look for 1-2 dollars a piece. Those will be sold by them for 5-10 dollars. For "bad" lps probably 10 cents. Those will be sold for 1-2 dollars. 7"s probably 10-25 cents selling for 1-5 dollars. That is the kind of markup I normally see when I sell to stores.
