"This one time, at Bandcamp..."

Recommended Posts

I randomly found this band on another forum unrelated to vinyl. They're a really rad synthpop band that I wish would put out more music. They're called Robes and they have two 7 inches with four great songs.

Those Jack Buck singles look and sound awesome. Gonna pick those up when I have some extra cash for sure.

The only vinyl I've bought off bandcamp is: http://squall.bandcamp.com/. It's a nice trans green.

One of Daniel Danger's many bands (including but not limited to Some Stranger and A City Safe From Sea)

Priapus/Old Painless split 7", raging technical grindcore from Priapus and fast as fuck grind with some noise elements from Old Painless. Three colors of vinyl, and only $6ppd in the US: http://priapusgrind.com/album/priapus-old-painless-split

On a very different musical plane, there's the post-/dance-rock duo El Ten Eleven, who have everything for sale on their bandcamp, with two 7"s and two albums available on vinyl. ETE has been one of my favorite bands ever since I found out about them, beautiful and groovy songs made by two dudes and a lot of looping. A good place to start might be the split 7" with Girlfriends, which is a one-man mathy emo/post-punk band in the vein of Blood Brothers: https://fakerecordlabel.bandcamp.com/album/brobocop-falling-7-double-single

Please tell me you've seen them live. They are so. insanely. good. live. We saw them last fall in bloomington and I was blown away. I had heard some of their stuff before seeing them, but I had never really gotten that deep into them. I ended up buying everything they had on vinyl that night because I was so impressed. It's crazy knowing that two guys can make as dynamic of a sound as that.

Hell yeah, I've seen them three times: April, 2010 in Ithaca, October, 2012 in Philly, and this past September back in Ithaca. They're one of the only bands I'll buy everything from and see whenever I can. So excited for their new EP.

Bought the Bars and Battle Scars comp from East Grand Records a little while back and discovered some really good punk and rock & roll bands.  I've never bought a comp vinyl before, but getting to stream it first definitely got me interested and it's a great one.  Found it at:  https://eastgrand.bandcamp.com/album/bars-and-battle-scars

My friends' band, Disastroid. I think their description is pretty much there:

"Disastroid is three guys from San Francisco. They play heavy music that's influenced by sludgy bands like Melvins and Harvey Milk, stoner bands like QOTSA and Fu Manchu, and the more raw jittery vibe of bands like Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, and Jesus Lizard. There's some math rock in there too, but don't get too stressed out about it."

Cool stuff. Definitely a grunge thing going on. Check it out!

Check out a good friend of mine named Amigo The Devil. He calls it murder folk. Most of it are love songs but from a serial killer to his victims. The more you dig into the lyrics, the better it gets!

The last EP "Diggers" is all about Ed Gein.

The first EP "Mannimals was engineered, mixed and produced by Kurt Ballou at godcity.

I do all the art for his music and merch and will soon be putting out a new 7" on my upcoming label.

I will be looking forward to that 7"

I really like this stuff...

I do this every couple weeks; I love the discover feature on bandcamp. I've been on a huge folk-sy kick lately, so I've been able to find some neat new stuff.

A few that I've enjoyed recently are Small Houses (http://smallhouses.bandcamp.com/), Doc Dailey & Magnolia Devil (https://docdaileyandmagnoliadevil.bandcamp.com/album/catch-the-presidents), and New American Farmers (https://newamericanfarmers.bandcamp.com/album/brand-new-day).

That Doc Dailey & Magnolia Devil album is solid.  Picture Frames has been my go-to song since you posted this.  I'm definitely grabbing this record on my next payday.

Some great Canadian garage rock/punk.  Fuckin' Up Young is a great 7", and there's a preorder for the new 10" 'Smite"

These guys are great. Little Metal Baby Fist is awesome. I went to pick up the 10" a few days ago, but the shipping is still holding me back.

Sweet, another Small Houses fan! Really wish the whole Exactly Where You Wanted to Be album would be pressed (in addition to just the Oh Hiding Out 7").

Anyone that likes indie folk-rock / singer-songwriter stuff should check out Bryan John Appleby: http://bryanjohnappleby.bandcamp.com/album/fire-on-the-vine
