Latitudes: "Agonist" (postmetal, Shelsmusic) - shipping

I did a search for "Latitudes" and "Agonist" - nada, and I felt this band worthy of a thread of its own, not just piggyback on the other similar Shelsmusic pressing of Ancients' "Star Showers..."

While perhaps not lighting a fire under me like ISIS, or for others Pelican, Latitudes bring some unique prog fusion to their (mostly) instrumental postmetal which is excellent and technically awesome. Here is the gushy email, and hope we can get to 100 like Ancients.... May want to check out their latest "Individuation" on Shelsmusic bandcamp as well. *shels have moved to Thailand

Shelsmusic is very excited to announce that we have started taking

pre-orders for Latitudes' debut album "Agonist" on 12" Vinyl :)

only 300 limited edition copies will be pressed on 12" heavy-weight colored vinyl and as with all our vinyl we'll be going all out with this - the vinyl be sheathed in heavy card Gatefold sleeve featuring the original "Agonist" artwork and just as with Ancients' vinyl last month, we'll need 100 pre-orders to make this happen...

Worldwide shipping as always - you can order your copy now at

www.shelsmusic.com

(format of photo of album cover not allowed on VC)

Also - thanks to all our friends and family around the world, who helped

make [the] *Ancients vinyl happen - we were able to reach just over 200

pre-orders for - and now 'Star Showers On The Euphrates' is being

pressed at Pirate's Press - for those of you waiting on those - we've

received word from the factory that due to the crazy xmas rush, they are

totally swamped and behind - we've been pushing to try and get them to

you before xmas, but they have told us it will likely be first week of January :( so we would like to offer all of you who ordered/plan to order a copy of *Ancients on vinyl before XMAS 3 FREE album downloads from our shelsmusic.bandcamp.com page - we'll be sending out download codes to all of you who ordered a copy - so keep an eye out for those!

finally, just wanted to say a massive thanks to our ever-growing Shelsmusic familia out there all around the world - we truly have the best most awesome and most patient supporters thank you all for being so

awesome - we started this label back in 2001 to release our own music for Mahumodo - and then *shels - and because most labels were screwing bands around, we started helping out our friends in bands - and before we knew it, we were helping bands we love and believe in from all around the world to reach more people and to help them do what they love without going bankrupt! like so many bands do... we have never ever signed a band to more than a one album deal because we believe they should be free to come back and work with us again only if they feel we have helped them.

and we feel so proud when bands we have worked with go on and get

bigger - for example the mighty Black Sheep Wall who we're so proud to have worked with, and now with Seasons of Mist and reaching way more and more folks - good people who make incredible heavy music who deserve to be huge - check out their new tune here: it's incredible and their new album is out in January - these are the types of bands we love to see get more attention - instead of the bullshit we get fed constantly - fingers crossed we're gonna bring more and more incredible undergound music out to people... we are in love with what we do.. no matter what...

we still consider ourselves a band first and above all we just love making and sharing music we love - and we are rididuculousy blessed to have been able to support and work with bands we love and are fans of... it's unreal.

the truth is, you have made it all possible for us and all the bands - none of this would exist without all of you - so, we thank you for believing in what we do - for coming to a show, buying a tshirt, CD or vinyl or downloading some tunes - for emailing us, for posting comments on our pages - and for taking this journey with us - we know who you are - especially those who have been there from the start - and we cannot thank you enough - we will continue to focus on what we do best, what we love - putting all our love and passion into everything we do, right down to the smallest details and can't wait to keep growing and sharing more and more awesome music and art with you :)

p.s we've moved to Thailand - been here 4 months now and not planning to go anywhere - it's super cheap here and we finally have more breathing room financially to do more releases... so fingers crossed we'll be bringing you more awesome new underground music very shortly

mucho love and respect! :)

The heavy-weight gate-fold for this and also Star Showers is just awesome, probably my two favorite LPs in my collection so far. I really hope we get Individuation as well.

I think I listen to Individuation more than Agonist tbh, so I am definitely with you on hoping they will press it.

Start sending Medi emails again, and he needs to get someone to dig out those Mahumodo Waves that are just collecting dust! Keeps saying 'be patient', but hey, we waited 6 months for Agonist :)  Can't wait to hear what their new album sounds like (Latitudes).

Got my *shels POTPB shirt yesterday and it's very nice. I guessed wrong and it's Really Large for L if anyone hasn't ordered yet.

Then my Crosses shirt I guessed wrong on Medium as it more like a Small. Both Gildan. Oy.

So is this an 'oversized' gatefold like the Ancients one? I tried one of Sleeve City's 'oversized' outer sleeves, but even that just barely fits and is too tight. And yes; that bothers me.  :P

But not enough to not buy the albums. I hope they do another Purple Buffalo (whatever the hell it was called) pressing.

Nah, the record is smaller than the Ancients one. I was able to fit it in to a normal sleeve, although it is still tight.

I bought some of Sleeve City 5 mil nonyellowing 'oversized' and they are great for 2xLP gatefold - Agonist slides in fine but 1/4" hangs out. Ancients is humongous. I thought Caspian YATC 2nd press were huge, but not so. The cellophane packing sleeve that holds the 5mil Mylars is what my Ancients is in.
