So it's been closer to 15 years than 14 since D'angelo dropped his modern masterpiece Voodoo. This Sunday there will be a listening party in NYC and a track will go up online at http://20before15.redbull.com . Clearly there is an image of a CD that has been seen on numerous sites, so it's safe to say that we are on the cusp of a true physical release: Here's the tentative track listing for this bad boy: Side A 1 Ain't That Easy 2 1000 Deaths 3 The Charade 4 Sugah Daddy 5 Really Love Side B 1 Back to the Future Part 1 2 Till It's Done (Tutu) 3 Prayer 4 Betray My Heartless 5 The Door 6 Back to the Future Part 2 7 Another Life Here's the teaser: Also, this quote by Questlove is what gets me the most excited about the whole album: "It's going to take you about 10 years to digest this record," he added. "Totally brilliant. Just the way this society works with music...being able to judge if something is a classic after the first listen, you can do that after 30 seconds on this. And the fact that we started this record in 2004, and it still sounds like it came out five years from now, it is a testament to the timelessness of it." Now while it is too early to know if the LP will coincide with the digital/CD release, this will more than likely be released on vinyl because everything else D'angelo has done has a vinyl release.
