gmoney
Today we have The Tallest Man On Earth - The Wild Hunt. Translucent blue; 800 copies; no more than 5 each. https://newburycomics.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=103&upc=103-2090801N His best album - and not extremely overpriced. inaptitude
Yeah absolutely fantastic album (although I prefer Shallow Grave). And much better than his more recent stuff with a full band. I already have it so not going to bite.
Derek™
His best album - and not extremely overpriced. After shipping and taxes it's $27.48. I know it's readily available everywhere else for way cheaper - and there's nothing wrong with the copy I've had for years - but the temptation to be a hypocrite and jump on it is overwhelming. BuzzersonKillwell
Everyone is against them until they sell something you want. Cloudsbelow and Retep
Derek™
I just don't know if I can justify it, is the thing. Dropping nearly $30 to own a colored version of a record I have - for collecting brag-rights that I'll never vocalize or flex - seems pretty dumb. I've wanted some of their exclusive variants in the past but always waited around to snag them cheaper.
BuzzersonKillwell
Yeah man, I get it. Whenever some shit pops up like this with an artist I love I get all "oooooh shiny" too. Weeks later I'm almost always glad I didn't get it though. It feels like the kind of shit you do when you first start building your collection, then as it grows you start to be like, why the fuck do I have 4 copies of the same record? So you set up four turntables and listen to everything in 4D.
Derek™
I like your thinking. I'd either sell my original for cheap to offset the cost, or gift it to a friend who's into Tallest Man. (Somehow having the record suddenly missing from my collection helps to justify spending extra to own it again, I think.) Really trying to avoid multiple copies of records, these days... for the sake of both practicality and shelf space.

Really trying to avoid multiple copies of records, these days... for the sake of both practicality and shelf space. This is exactly what I do. When newbury releases something I have already I take my copy into my local store for trade credits and pick up the newbury one. definitely not in the 'building' phase of my collection either, the exact opposite. its stupid, i know.. but its something.. and it keeps me from picking up EVERY new release that catches my eye, most of which will be played once and filed. DanielJ
Was anyone able to get their hands on a second/extra copy of Room on Fire? I am wanting to buy, but these eBay prices are ridiculous.
downisthenewup87
Guesses on how much that Lou Reed is gonna cost? It's the first Newbury I've been tempted to get since LCW (which I found out about to late).
