mrrom92
There are a loooooot of interesting things on this list and this is only what's managed to leak out in January. I'm hoping details regarding mastering are as vague as usual so I can whittle that list down to something significantly smaller, because there is a lot I would want here. mrrom92
As to the Marley interview LP... not too long ago some tapes came up on the market, the guy who originally interviewed them was shopping them around. They were from the 70's, short enough to fill a 10", and they featured him speaking with Marley but also he performed a number of songs on an acoustic guitar. Decent sound, they were broadcast once decades ago apparently. Ultimately, I passed on the tapes. I'm very curious if these are in any way related. If so, these shouldn't only be interviews. Princess Logan
All I want for Christmas is Garbage to put Bleed like Me on vinyl. Also I would buy a Jennifer's Body soundtrack. That soundtrack was a dream for mall goths.
ManhattanValley
The xx tried pulling that shit a few years back on 11 goddamn 7"s, not even with demos or unreleased singles or anything on the Bsides, just the same etching of an X on all the records... I thought the b-sides had demos... thank god I didn't spend my money on it...

Blaine
Run the Jewels picture disc is pretty much the only thing to tickle my pickle so far. This is all I'm looking forward to so far, and I don't care for picture discs in the first place, but this group will continue to get my support for superior music. allenh
I thought the b-sides had demos... thank god I didn't spend my money on it... Same here. I saw them in Rough Trade in London as was tempted until I saw the price, glad I spent the money on something else.

OrangeJoe
Watched the Darjeeling limited for the first time the other day. Was not impressed at all :s but my gf really likes that so thats it for me right now. Also re soundtracks. I agree with what someone said earlier. I love scores. Things like tron, oblivion, Jurassic park. When things like guardians of the galaxy come out they look super fun to own. But it's seriously a dollar bin mix tape in a fancy package. steeltoeagogo
Nothing of interest so far. Hopefully the expanded list will give me a reason to go out on RSD because it's nice to see everyone out and about talking music

Blaine
Blockbuster Night part 2 on vinyl? You goddamn bet. I was surprised that song wasn't included in any form with the deluxe album release. Heck, if I can spend $20 on a 7" single and popcorn tin for songs I already have, then $15 for a picture disc is nothing. natenomm
Number11
I cant speak for others but I spin my GOTG soundtrack and the score frequently. Same here. As far as mixtapes, GOTG has one of the best soundtracks in recent years. If people are also talking about scores.. Then what is there to be confused about in terms of their popularity? There's hundreds of scores I can listen to just like any other genre. I'm not an expert on jazz.. But the Whiplash score is great.
The Exquisite Death of NK
I haven't read through this entire thread... but I didn't see anyone getting excited for The Hold Steady "Boys and Girls in America" repress. I love that album and getting an OP costs an arm and a leg.

Usagi
So far the only thing I want from this first batch is the 10" Garbage... my 15 year old self will be happy but also I feel like this is something I could just stroll into my record store in the afternoon. I love film score albums and there are a few OST I can listen to all the time. GOTG is one of them. I wasn't expecting it. I have it both on tape, LP, and digital. Vinnybod
I know it's been said before but.... 6x7"? Really? Seems they are just catering to the people who want to buy the box set and then hang each of the records up on their wall with thumbtacks. tonyfranciosa
Got a call from a friend who works at one of the bigger RSD locations in my area and they have this initial list posted by the blog and their orders were due yesterday apparently. Holy cow this is getting more nuts every year.
birdwell
Film scores I can see maybe.....I enjoy the format of Vinyl LPs because it's essentially a sure-fire way to listen to an album straight through....I don't own any LPs that I don't dig the album as a whole. My issue with OSTs are they go against what I enjoy about vinyl....more often than not each song off of an OST comes off of a great album....I like the context that each song has in an Album's flow. I don't own any "best of" LPs for the same reason.....I thought OSTs were weird and silly when I was buying Tapes and CDs in Middle School/High School. They're all backed and put out by Major Lablels, because of that, they're pressing a ton of them and it ends up taking precedent in the pecking order at a pressing plant which ends up makes delays on other records of original music. OSTs being pressed to vinyl is aggrivating enough to me, the fact that kids are absolutely clammering for them is even more bizare to me /OldManRant
bigdz68
The One Direction pic disc was my top RSD grab last year. Really hope they have another great release planned for this year.bwahahaha I will never forget that morning! Especially when the tour bus drove by!!!!
