It looks like when vinyl sales were going down in the 90s, vinyl singles outsold LPs by a lot. It looks like 2005-2006 is as low as vinyl sales went before it picked up around 2009-2010. Also in the current trend, vinyl singles sales are incredibly low compared to the sales of LPs. Vinyl sales may be up only slightly, but as a percentage of overall music sales - in a year when digital sales actually fell for the first time - it's probably looks a little more impressive. It makes a lot of sense because when the music is no longer tied to physical media, CDs no longer offer any value prop over a high quality MP3, but records do. I got an awesome Crosley player and only spin my very expensive limited edition LPs on it. Best turntable out there, and surprisingly affordable.
