ajxd
Might have been a mistake? The pulleys are just plastic... Cheap so I thought maybe two for that, but tard didn't get two... I love my cabinet. I moved 6mo ago and it didn't fit in the room. I thought I'd need a new rack, but for $20 I bought some lumber and paint, and created the footer. Back to happy. I still plan to get a Dustcover or make one. My partner and I have 3 cats...
Tardcore
Here's a picture of my little setup. I'm considering options for a dustcover and possibly a new base. that maple block I have now is too narrow.
kidamnesiac
^That setup is sexy. Is that shelf home made? I love seeing DACs in people's home audio setups.
Tardcore
I used the hardware from a Sanus stand like this and drilled some holes in 3 of these Gladiator gearbox bench tops. I paid around $50 each for the shelves. I could have done it quite a bit cheaper but I wanted something finished.
ajxd
^That setup is sexy. Is that shelf home made? I love seeing DACs in people's home audio setups. I can't believe more people don't have em. Mine's hard to see but I have the Cambridge Audio DacMagic (original!) on the shelf above my table.
kidamnesiac
I have a simple JDS Labs ODAC in my setup that I love. It sits next to my turntable and always sparks some pretty interesting conversation. Most people have no concept of what a DAC is or why you would want a separate DAC from the one in your computer or TV.
Tardcore
I run both USB and Optical connections from my computer to my DAC. The emotiva is pretty handy because it can function as just a line level dac or it can work as a pre-amp with volume control.

kannibal
I predict you'll last one week with your turntable down on the bottom shelf like that.
kannibal
Kannibal the HaterAnd you're using the mat? Damn man, you are turning into a woman.
ajxd
Hahaha. I'm going to try both ways. I started with mat, as I figured they included it for a reason. As for bottom shelf- from 2013-2014 that's where I kept my Pro-Ject. It won't fit on top, even with the TV shifted all the way left or right. I have Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand speakers that I will probably keep for good, even if I have multiple speakers.

British amp, German turntable and Danish speakers. The Marantz is all set up and running. So far so good. Even though I have spent a good amount of time listening to this table recently it wasn't on my system in my room. Initial impression in my system is very good. So far it's everything I was hoping it would be as compared to my Rega / Blue Point Special. To sum up my initial impression, Great bass, top end has lots of detail without being in your face. A very pleasant warmth to its overall presentation.

Tardcore
Did you fellows find that setting the tracking force weight as directed in the instructions worked out correctly? I have a digital gauge on order, just wondering if either of you were able to verify the weight after setup.
ajxd
I verified. Using the method described I did not get 2.2g... I got 1.7g.
Tardcore
good to know. I went ahead and ordered the digital gauge anyway hopefully it shows up tomorrow. The one I have now is the shure teeter totter style gauge and it does not go up to 2.2.

I used to set my VTF to ~2.2 with it. I did buy the cheap $20 digital scale on Amazon and tested it and calibrated it and it works great for me now. Tardcore
cool. thanks, I will give it a try when I get home tonight. the digital gauge is nice to have anyway, but it won't hurt to have a backup.

Very accurate. And for $20!
