ermylaw
I don't understand why this says these albums were remastered from the analog tapes, but cut from digital masters. I hope there's some clarification of that!

I hope there's some clarification of that! They probably mean that the analog tapes were transferred to digital masters, and that these digital masters will be used for the new vinyl. ermylaw
I think you're probably right, but it seems like that might negatively impact some people's purchasing decision.
ermylaw
What I mean is that some people are probably more likely to buy an all analog set than something like this. I'm thinking here of the success of the recent Beatles Mono set.
itsgoodtobefree
I definitely agree. They should have been all analog after seeing how well The Beatles mono box did in the audiophile department.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this also more work for a less audiophile friendly product?
itsgoodtobefree
Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this also more work for a less audiophile friendly product? The digital masters were probably made when the CD set came out a few years ago, so they probably don't feel like going back to the analog tapes. AlexH.
Wanting the best possible sound quality is deserving of rotting in hell? lol I've just never met an analog purist who isn't an insufferable person. (And it will sound the same as if it was cut directly from the tapes.) Jettkoral
achillesstand7
Damn...I will definitely want to get these. I haven't seen a price yet anywhere (has anyone else?). I have pretty good condition copies of most of his albums (and fairly poor condition copies of the rest). But, I would love to get this if I can justify the price. Edit: Nevermind, it's $199.99 on Amazon. That's kind of to be expected. Hm, I'll see if I can get it on sale sometime.
mrrom92
Originals will sound better, and are readily available for less. If you think they sound the same… more power to you. somethingvinyl

Because they're so prominent and cheap, usually, I find this box unnecessary.

somethingvinyl
Same thing can be said about the Beatles Box Sets... both of them. No, not the mono set. There wasn't a mono White Album issued in the US. Plus, collecting record for nearly twenty years, I've found one or maybe two mono copies of the Capital albums. It's mostly stereo by and large. mrrom92
The mono beatles set would have been a bargain at 3 times the price. UK monos in nice playing condition aren't abundant or cheap. Any one of those records in mint condition would likely cost you hundreds of pounds. Considerably more when you're an American who has to import them and compete with the rest of the international collector's market. tvham
