hewasfasken
My local shop has copies of both the Death From Above - Trainwreck 1979 10" and The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan. I'd be more than happy to pick them up for someone for sticker price + shipping. I'm in Canada... I'm also looking for a couple RSD titles as well:Every Time I Die - Salam Brand New - Deja Entendu (yeah... I know...) I'd also be open to trading Deja for Get Behind Me Satan and Salam for Trainwreck Cheers!

sciencekiller
Mind me asking what shops have leftover Stripes and how much they want for it? That DFA was everywhere with tons of copies left.

Werner Herzog
I recently moved to Brampton and could use some record buddies. You clowns down?
voltagedrop
Neurotica Records has the Stripes! I tried to go there on Monday but they were closed. Did they have any other RSD stuff? I'm specifically looking for the Sloan 12". hewasfasken
sciencekiller
Neurotica Records has the Stripes! Thanks. I live 3 minutes away from Neurotica but haven't bothered checking. Guess I'll walk over tonight. They also have the Space Project from last RSD I've been looking for forever, but I guess it never sold in the shop, so they bumped the price up to the internet price and now want $60 for it. That sort of thing turned me off from the shop. hewasfasken

sciencekiller
No wonder Neurotica still has the Stripes and DFA79, their prices are laughable. $75 for the stripes and $25 for a 2 song 10" DFA picture disc? I passed on the Stripes for $55 on the weekend cause it was too expensive. Those things will sit there forever. Rotate must have still had 15-20 copies of the DFA when I was there Sunday and they only wanted $17 for it. How two stores in the same city, who likely use the same distributor, can be $7-8 apart on a title is mind-boggling. I don't know how Neurotica has stayed in business as long as it has. Yeah, their pricing is a little weird. Was in there today and saw the European pressing of Songs for the Deaf by QOTSA was actually $15 cheaper than what I paid at Kops across the street a few weeks ago. Go figure. I looked at that too, but it is clearly a bootleg. If you picked up a real one at Kops for only $15 more you got a deal. They have many bootlegs they don't advertise as such. I don't know if they are intending to be intentionally deceiving or not. The SFTD and S/T plus a lot of the other records in that section of the store were all bootlegs. I was hoping to find some live QOTSA bootlegs actually once I saw they carry boots, but they didn't have any.

From what I could see, the packaging looks exactly the same as the copy I bought from Kops.

There are black bootlegs out there as well. Plus the cover and sleeve is of much lower quality than the original.

Mine are black, so hopefully they're legit.

If it was sold as new then it would be a bootleg, if it was sold as used then there is a chance it is legit. You can do some research on Discogs on minor differences between originals and bootlegs to figure it out.
