TIL Toronto is on a coast

(I think what it comes down to is just one of those differences in terminology between our countries, Americans use the term “coast” a lot more loosely. But certainly being in the EST would make most Americans think of Toronto as “east coast.”)

I was born and raised in the Maritimes, but lived in BC for ~10 years where I had a lot of co-workers and employees from Southern Ontario tell me they were from the "east coast".... sure thing buds.

I mean, if you were born in BC everything east of Nelson or Cranbrook is the east coast

Back on topic, RSD Canada has a 3LP release from Sonic Unyon called Now We Are 25. Looks really cool. Has anyone seen a full tracklist?

They posted it across three posts on their Facebook page in early March. Cool, but based on the bands I know well, no original/new stuff.

I was hoping that at least one disc would be live/rare/unreleased cuts, at least. I still might buy it, especially if the price is right, since it's a good primer on Can Indie Rock. The live tour related to this comp looks good too fwiw.

Rick White (Eric’s Trip, Elevator to Hell) has a new project out with Eiyn Sof. He’s also given the sole album from The Unintended (project with Dallas Good and Greg Keelor) its first vinyl pressing.

Both limited (500 for the LP with Eiyn Sof) and available here: https://bluefogrecordings.bigcartel.com/products

For those in Toronto, Rotate This also had copies this past weekend.

Just noticed that Sloan has Never Hear The End Of It, their double album from 2006 (and their best album of the 00s) on their store. I paid a lot of money on this on Discogs earlier this year, don't be like me and get it for a more reasonable price!

The pressing otherwise looks the same as my copy, I wonder if they found some left over stock somewhere or is this a sign of some more represses coming??

Rick White has put out a vinyl pressing of Eric’s Trip’s “Warm Girl” cassette (not to be confused with the 7” of the same name).
The first run of 400 sold out, but they’re pressing more. Seems they will all be on green vinyl.

Not 90s (it's from 88), but sometime last year Lisa Lougheed's Evergreen Nights has a small repress that's still available and reasonably priced ($17CAD).

Best known for the track Run With Us, the album is made of tracks written for and inspired by the show The Raccoons. The OG pressing was my grail for a very long time, hard to come by and expensive so I was really happy to find this came out. The cover art is a little blown out but it sounds fairly good (better than the cassette mp3 rips I had), the only letdown is Return to Analog doesn't have the rights for digital distribution so there's no download code and it's not on any streaming services.

Sloan is splitting their "B Sides Win" collection into multiple volumes for a vinyl release. I personally would've preferred a 3LP or box set to cover it all in one shot, but oh well.

Volume 1 is currently in a "secret" preorder. 1200 copies on blue vinyl. $18.99 (shipping to the US is $7.99).

New and expanded limited pressing of “Peter” by Eric’s Trip:

Sweet! IMO this is one of the most lo-fi sounding of all lo-fi indie albums, so I wonder if the remix/remaster is going to polish a lot of rusty noise away.

One of the Rotate This guys more or less runs Blue Fog, so I expect to be able to buy this there.

Tricky Woo are reissuing their first three LPs, two of which are being pressed on vinyl for the first time. Looks like they are only available as a bundle of three at the moment.

Available on Bandcamp or from the label.

I’m sure everyone who cares gets the emails by now, but Sloan is putting out a collection of their hardcore originals and covers from a little while back (originally a 7” and a digital album):
