TheGhostOfRandySavage
Dry cleans did alright, but I went back and did wet on them, and they sound fantastic now. I think they all came a little gritty / dusty / noisy, especially the US; but all seemed to be great after a good wet cleaning. I think the only one I didn't need to clean (but still did) was the Newbury. The tour was pretty clean as well. But HM, I always clean those before spinning. I'm interested to hear how the EU Indie color in color turns out sound wise. Which copy did you end up getting (if any)? Ha! I just come in here for the fun arguments, I'm not crazy about Caspian

Guest
Any new record should always be wet cleaned, especially splatter or mulitcolor variants. So much dust and such from the combination of plastics.
rickydenim
Obvious question, but are you giving them good wet cleans? Yep sure did. Used Audio Intelligent No. 15 for a pre-clean and soak, then used No. 6 and gave a good scrub/clean etc and followed with my brush. The issue with the split is you can hear noise as it goes through the white part which is quite loud and then followed by constant ticks. Can try another clean though. ExtraFox
The 180g black is back up at Hello Merch. http://hellomerch.com/products/dust-and-disquiet?variant=3286367749 I'm assuming that these are cancellations and returns due to the problems documented here. Let's hope they've fixed it as they're well aware of it.

Won't have my tour copy for a couple weeks still due to moving, wedding, etc. I held out only to receive the double A/B from hello merch. I had to listen to the digital download after hearing the A/B disc.

mrewest
The first signs of insanity occurred.. http://www.discogs.com/sell/item/280193722 Pretty sure that seller used to write for a post-rock blog I followed. A shame to see that. Oh well. I'm still looking for anyone to assist with getting one of those tour copies if they are willing. Looking like a no go at this point though.
