PO: Margot & the Nuclear So and So's - Rarities Boxset

Recommended Posts

Are you actually supposed to listen to the flexi? I just played mine and all I could hear was the needle scratching on the damn thing.

My message from Richard was: "Are there things your parents don't know about you? Do you have a sweetheart?"

Look at the postcard, and you will see circle grooves, find the outer edge where the grooves start...Place the needle at that edge...if it doesnt move inward (mind took maybe 5 seconds before locking), pick up the needle and move it closer  and closer until you hear something...Depending on your needle it can be difficult to get it to LOCK in the groove properly...keep trying..it most certainly plays just fine!

Flexi's aren't as bad as lathe's thank god! Those can sometimes be impossible to find the groove....

My message, "Do you like Sports?" - (mines weak lol, compared to many others!)

Heard enough good things about this board on /r/vinyl to finally mosey over... and boy am I glad I did! Wish I'd done it a month sooner to hear about the colored boxed set, but still snagged the black vinyl.

What do people think about the "Living Room Version" of BRip is Burning that was included? I think I'm still partial to the Daytrotter take, but this one has a nice ambiance.

I wanted to recommend a band to you guys that enjoy Margot. They are called WRITER. I actually saw them at a Margot show years ago. They were the opening band and I had never heard of them at the time. They released an album a few years ago entiteld, Brotherface, that I listen to all the time. I think you guys will enjoy it. Here are a couple tracks that should get you hooked:

https://writertheband.bandcamp.com/track/family-dinner

https://writertheband.bandcamp.com/track/head-to-toe-2

https://writertheband.bandcamp.com/track/dry-hands

I actually just got around to ordering it on wax myself, but it looks like it's a very nice release.

Let me know what you guys think.

I have always loved the Spooky version of Broadripple. But when it comes down to it I love the original demo the best.

100% agreed.

My heart skipped a beat when I got an email from Discogs saying a seller posted a copy of the 7" for $10 a few years ago. I bought it so fast. I remember I was on a date with my then-girlfriend and had to pause the conversation for a second so I could get the purchase through as fast as I could. Still so happy to own it.
