We found out our canned cat food was owned by nestle. We had just bought a stockpile so even though this was 6 months ago we still haven't figured out how to replace it. We're pretty sure we're going to transition the cats to a raw meat diet because all the canned cat food can be traced somewhere terrible.

it's better to feed cats dry food anyway

I'm learning so much about CEO's this week. I learned the CEO of Jimmy John's is a big game hunter just the other day.

He's not just a Big Game hunter, he literally pays off game wardens in foreign countries to poach endangered animals. He also dropped everyone on his corporate level to Part-Time to avoid having to pay their healthcare. And nit-picky.....he has a personal assistant that follows him around filling his huge soda cup with half diet coke/half regular coke making sure it remains full at all times....and his voice is insanely grating.

I worked at J.J.'s for 8 years, helped break single-day sales records for the company as a whole 4 separate times, met Jimmy once (such a wanker), they found a loophole to not pay me overtime no matter how much I worked, I worked a 24 hour shift once, all of their ingriedents you can buy at any grocery store (Sara Lee meats, Hellman's mayonnaise, Grey Poupon Dijon mustard, ect.), I hate that fucking place with such a fiery passion. I was in charge of sending drivers our the day the Tornado hit in Tuscaloosa (April 27th 2011) and I sent a kid out as it was hitting and he was almost freaking killed.....I see him almost every week here in Birmingham, he plays in bands, books shows, does poke and stick prison style tattoos, super nice guy....I fucking hate that place

I worked at 2 Targets over the course of about 3 years (hardlines for the most part). I actually really enjoyed working there aside from the ridiculous rude people that always shopped there.

to answer the OP, i'll shop anywhere if they have something I want for the best price or good food that I'm in the mood for. they're just a means to an end and I don't have to agree with their work ethic/political or religious stance/etc.

This. They would have to seriously offend me to the point of lingering anger to never support them again.

For moral reasons, I try to boycott any place that sells porn.

Do you think there is any different between shopping from a store that puts their stuff on amazon, apart from directly from amazon?

Also, the employee situation and McDonald's - is it the same way worldwide, you think? Or can it differ? Also, is Burger King any better?

I have never purchased a Nike product in my life. It's weird to think about I guess I just have never liked anything they have made. The only Apple product I own is a first gen ipod. I have never been an Apple guy at all. I will fully admit that I have a Samsung phone. I really wish I could only use products that have been fairly made but it's close to impossible so I try to do my part however small it is.

Well put. I buy locally as much as possible and avoid chain stores/online giants as good as I can, but capitalistic society is too far down the drain to avoid everything that's bad.

This. Heard about the fairphones? Been thinking about getting that one for my next one. At least I'm not constantly wearing phones out, have had this one for three years now, probably gonna be at least 4 until I change mine.
