MCDELTAT
Either I never noticed it before, or they just changed their Spotify profile pic, too. No I noticed that like two weeks ago and thought it was super weird, but never thought more than that. EDIT: Is nudity even allows on YouTube? MCDELTAT
Watched the video again for the 5th time, just realized the dog at 35 sec is probably a reference to "Housebroken". Any other references besides that and the House?

cwhitmuzik
how come? they won't play it live anymore (except special circumstances) because after having discussions with people who have been abused, christian realized that the message wasn't written clearly at all and it can be interpreted as victim blaming to a point. sort of separating themselves from that track and its meaning at this point. before this becomes another conversation about "omg you're too PC!!!!" like sadly a bunch of things on this board have become, as i stated above, christian is the one who made that decision and made a blog post about that about a year and a half ago. it has nothing to do with being pressured by fans or thinking they should "deal with it or leave the room if the song comes on", as i've seen people say before. I guess you have to respect that decision and what he wants to convey through his music. Makes me look at the song differently now

Interesting.... I'll definitely respect that decision. I just always interpreted it where although the victim is completely innocent, they still care for the culprit and hope that they change. "Keep my options open...." Anyways.... I thought it was a reference because the dog is chained up at 35, but then another dog is running free at 2'24" with the rest of them. I guess I've taken too many English classes.

futures
happened for me too. Song is uncomfortable to listen to now that I understand how victims of abuse see it. that song has made me uncomfortable from the first moment i ever heard it. i don't have any history of abuse but its hard to listen to for sure. Bladewillisisdead
I get what they were going for with that song but I also get how it could be come across in a bad way. I am a victim of abuse, if that means anything (it doesn't really)
uglyorgan
I thought that song was political in nature. I never actually took it at face value as being about abuse.
mssskat184
I always saw the song as a political statement, also. Maybe I'm way off base here, but I saw it as an anti-war statement. I'm not sure if the abuse imagery was necessary though and I can 100% understand how it can upset people.
