RyanSmithers
Nice... I would love it if Dustin brought some screams back here and there on the new album. Just helps so much with the dynamics when you know his voice can go from the quiet stuff all the way to the big screams. Stoked.
konk
link that!! your description made me excited. Dustin's screaming in 2016?? also, are they still on Vagrant or imprint Staple where they released anthology? as they are not really any "scene" bands left there... I think it's gonna be on Vagrant. Isn't La Dispute on Vagrant?
uglyorgan
I think it's gonna be on Vagrant. Isn't La Dispute on Vagrant? Yeah there was weird merger about a year ago and both bands are now technically on BMG but their releases will have Vagrant logos on them. INDIE CRED! Derek™
Interesting sentiment. Every album from Thrice has religious themes in it, but what I thought was always so cool about a band like them is that they had/have these clearly religious themes in their song titles/lyrics but were vague enough that people could listen to it and miss a lot of it or entirely. I'm in agreement with you there, but M/M really amped up those religious tones, in my opinion. I personally couldn't care less, really, but there's no denying they were heading in a more lyrically religious direction on the last album. I think I read a post on the actual M/M thread where someone was blasting the CD in their car, and their friend / girlfriend asked at what point the listener got into worship music. (If memory serves me right, it was Listen Through Me that was the culprit.) It's all good to my ears, but I'm sure they'll appease quite a few fans who aren't thrilled on the preachy component of Dustin's lyrics. I think that's why fans don't mind, because people know the religious Christian component to his lyrics are there. But I'd contend that they aren't "preachy" at all. There's a difference between believing something and believing in something and forcing it down other people's throats. His religious views have always been there, but he never words things in a way where to make anyone think they're dumb or wrong to think otherwise. That is why I think people don't mind his lyrics. Just my two cents. tape

SpazzyMcGee
This might be the alb I pick up from them. M/M never caught on to me, but haven't really had the time to listen to their back catalogue
xfactor675
Yeah, I really hope I can regain the love I had for them around TAITA/Vheissu, the last 2 was sadly mediocore at best, but i have high hopes for this.
RadDonut
See I feel the opposite way. Their last two albums are some great stuff. Vheissu is good but not amazing and anything before that I just can't get into.
ejc625
How can you think their last two albums are mediocre? Some of the best work they've done stems from those two albums. Though I will admit there is a song or two I'm not crazy about off Major/Minor.
mrewest
How do you know a band is great? When there are so many varied opinions on their albums. So stoked on this one.
daegor
Are we doing this? haha Pre-Vheissu is super mediocre in my books, a couple of good songs out of those albums, but overall, meh. Vheissu 3/5 Alchemy 5/5 Beggars 5/5 Major/Minor 3/

daegor
What the fuck. Haha, I know I'm in the minority. With a few exceptions, I've never been able to get into anything even remotely 'screamo', and I can't handle Dustin's voice pre-Vheissu. That being said, I love the later live recordings because vocally he delivers those older songs in a much more appealing (to me) way. Juturna90
Also, as much as I love TAITA I prefer vheissu and everything after as well. Alchemy and beggars being my favorite releases of theirs. daegor

Rapidfiretollbooth
Fuck I may be in the minority cause I personally think The Illusion of Safety and TAITA are their 2 best albums. But that's coming from a guy whose favorite Thrice song is That Hideous Strength. So I love the hard stuff.
