natenomm
The deluxe looks cool, but I wasn't a fan of the first 2 songs, so I'll hold out until I listen to the full album.
Darnoc
So on the beck website has a deluxe bundle with limited pin and prism.. can't limit the vinyl or deluxe so they limit the chotchkies Edited August 24, 2017 by Darnoc
Oblivions
Just listened to Dear Life. Thanks to the poster who shared it here. Much much better than Dreams and Wow for me. It was nice to see that guitar in there and that brief bridge reminded me of that sound he was playing with in those 12" singles he released before Morning Phase. I might have to just buy this and have faith that Dreams/Wow are the outliers as far as sound/genre. Also LOL at the $13 cassette. I love the idea that large labels and bands are pricing cassettes like they are CDs and this is 2003. Darnoc
Went with bullmoose- for deluxe and yellow version. The kaleidoscope was tempting though..
timsimmons
I'm probably gonna pass on this. I just went back to Wow and Dreams. While the new single was good, those were not. IDK if I want to commit to this based on that ratio of success. OneThreeOneTwo
jrodan
I liked Wow a lot the first time I heard it. the car commercials kinda ruined it for me.
AdamJNovak
Yeah, I'll wait to see the rest of the tracks. The three that are already out are fine but don't know if I need to have them on vinyl. Especially the deluxe.

DecayToDeath
I like Wow, I love Dreams, and this new single is definitely good after one listen. I'm looking forward to this one, but I'll probably grab it when it's out and not stress about deluxe/limited.
tetsuodaironman
The songs so far for this sound super whack.

ejc625
I'm proud of myself for having enough self control to not preorder this. Though I was very close on multiple occasions. natenomm
unravelled
Me too but I am also a little tired of 10 song double lp sets. Edited August 25, 2017 by unravelled
timpopkid
I can't believe how terrible these songs are. It's been all downhill since '94...
Mourning Wood
LOL. that's 23 yrs ago. can't think of (m)any bands or artist still producing new material to rival their best & most creative stuff after that many years. not to mention that he set the bar pretty high for himself with those 90s albums. ejc625
Modern Guilt is one of my favorites. Darnoc and OneThreeOneTwo
timpopkid
Midnight Vultures was garbage too. Sea Change and pretty much all of his acoustic stuff is great. Aside from Morning Phase, which although wasn't bad, was pretty boring. Give me Mellow Gold and OFITG all day every day.

aphasias
It blows my mind that Midnite Vultures gets so much love. I just don't get it. It has always been the least enjoyable Beck record for me, though Wow and Dreams have me suspecting Colors will be close to matching it. I'm definitely in the group that enjoys his folk and blues inspired material more than his pop records.
OneThreeOneTwo
Mutations is the greatest album of the late 90s, hands-down. Only Massive Attack's Mezzanine comes close. Not sure if I'm buying this. Will have to listen to the whole thing first. I really don't like the lyrics of Wow. Honestly even with Dreams. and Dear Life, which is great, I'd rather hear the instrumentals. I might buy Dear Life and Dreams if they come out in 7" and/or 12". Beck has OK b-sides and remixes on average. Edited August 26, 2017 by armadillo01

Don't get me wrong, I think Mellow Gold is my favorite, followed by One Foot and Sea Change, but it's hard to deny the man had a hot streak going there for a while. I can't identify anything he's ever put out that strikes me as "bad" (besides, pending your opinion on freak-folk stuff, some of Golden Feelings/Harvest Field/Soulmanure). timpopkid
There's a song on Midnight Vultures where he's singing about fruity bazooty or something stupid like that. Lyrically just about every song is awful and the jokey R&B thing is such a disingenuous gimmick.
