Discogs launched Vinylhub - a crowdsourced map of the world's record stores. Lots of news articles about it popping up. Might save some of the "What record stores are in ____?" questions around here.

While it is extremely helpful it doesn’t tell which of those stores has overpriced new releases and which ones have a basement full of used releases.

Hopefully they'll add that feature at some point. Everything's gotta start somewhere.

very interesting map.

The UK has almost as many record stores than the US? (1815 to 1950ish)

30! record stores in the African continent, of which only 6! are outside of South Africa?

It's crowdsourced so it's not necessarily a complete list and could be based on where users are located.

Wouldn't it be amazing to dig in a place like Africa?

I went to grad school with a guy from Congo and his dad was a big jazz fan. They'd always bring back records from their trips that they got for super cheap but are way expensive here.
