Andydarby
Greetings, im fairly new to all this turntable stuff and so far i havent had any difficulties until today, i was cleaning my stylus with a specail brush that came in a kit specifically for cleaning a the stylus needle. I followed the instructions and i was cleaning from back to front but i didnt realise the plastic edge of my brush was hitting the stylus everytime id pull outwards (from back to front) Ive been trying to figure out how my diamond is suppose to look all day. I dont know if the tip has fallen or if something has fallen from the tip.. with the naked eye i can barely see anything at the tip of my stylus needle thing. It doesnt look sharp.. i feel something there when rubbing my finger but im not sure if thats just how its suppose to be. Without a camera or magnifying glass it looks like theres no diamond tip, my records play and sound okay but i dont know if its just me or it used to sound crispier. Here are some pictures. All i want to know is if the diamond tip on my stylus looks how its suppose to, did i scrape something off? Looks a little flat to me and i cant even see the tip without a magnifying glass or camera. Heres a link to my photobucket with all images http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/andydarby17/library/
slinch
It looks fine. If the tip wasn't on there you'd hear it, it likely wouldn't play any discernible music. Though rubbing it with your finger may very well leave some residue on it, which might not be cleanable with a brush, so avoid doing that in the future
