PO: A Perfect Circle - Eat The Elephant 2xLP (Out on 4/20)

Recommended Posts

I liked the first two APC albums alright but to me they were always just a bit too radio/corporate alternative for my tastes. Never bothered with the following releases. Surprisingly I did enjoy Puscifer's Conditions of My Parole - the best thing Maynard's been involved in since Lateralus.  Well, 10,000 Days wasn't bad I suppose but certainly showed signs of a band past their peek.

Not to beat a dead horse but that is absolutely the worst artwork I've seen in a long time that isn't from an absolutely shit band. There's no excuse for that garbage.

Since when is a 2LP for $30 a high price???

Since always?  At least in this timeline leading up to present day.  I’ll gladly accept $30 PPD as the norm, but $30 before tax and shipping? – the latter of which is probably beyond the scope of $3.22 for Medial Mail?  Nope.

I'd like to introduce the "Newbury Comics Quotient."

Here is the formula:  (price of 2xLP in quesion) / (price of standard Newbury Comics 2xLP)

If the quotient is less than 1, you're in a reasonable range.  If the quotient is 1 or greater, you're paying too much.

Note: Please adjust accordingly for single disc LPs.

So basically, quadruple amputees are out of luck?

I just saw them a couple of months ago. It's a good show. I took a video. I didn't get kicked out.

What's everyones thoughts on these tracks after we've had a few weeks to digest them??

They're definitely growing on me, TalkTalk is probably my favourite of the lot, with Disillusioned being a close 2nd and then The Doomed.

If Disilusioned didnt have that slow, boring verse about putting the silicone obsession down, it would probably be in my top 10 APC tracks of all time...

Overall im pretty hyped for this though! Definitely a grower!
