lexicondevil
I haven't even had a chance to listen to the track, but I just bought it because AGALLOCH. Been waiting for a long time. http://us.prophecy.de/oxid-oxid-1/oxid-oxid/pro-227.html EDIT: Listening now. I like it on first listen. Definitely not Agalloch, though. lexicondevil
BTW: The shipping charge is a bullshit 12.99!
Freki
Giant Squid was always an interesting act. Been looking forward to this.

Definitely more in the line of Giant Squid than Agalloch. It will be interesting to hear what the other songs are like. I was thinking this was going to be heavier. morfiend
This is pretty close to how I thought they were going to sound, it's a pretty interesting track. Don's new Sculptured record he's working on will be heavier I'm sure.
2notepockets
Hopefully some clears left for me when I get paid tomorrow, I'm hoping I like this more than Pillorian not that it was bad just haven't really gone back to it much... shipping from their euro shop is only 6.99 for me still gonna cost me 55-60 though... lexicondevil
Heard another song off the album today and I just have to admit that I'm not all that into what I'm hearing so far. I like Pillorian a thousand times better than this.
morfiend
It’s much more Giant Squid sounding than Agalloch. I’ve only heard the Pillorian record once and it bored me.
lexicondevil
I'm surprised that some people, whom I assume are Agalloch fans, weren't that into Pillorian. I just can't get into Giant Squid. I ended up getting a refund for this record. I know I'm not really going to listen to it.
morfiend
It wasn’t bad (Pillorian) but it just felt like it was missing something. Maybe my expectations were too high or maybe I just miss Anderson’s guitar work and ideas mixed with Haughm’s. People give Haughm a ton of credit for Agalloch and rightfully so but Anderson was also a huge creative force within the band. 2notepockets, weinerdog and lexicondevil
2notepockets
finally listened to this in full and its pretty good, there are some really good heavy parts mixed in with lighter atmospheric stuff, I can see how the vocals would put some people off though bit of 80's goth, post punk about them... morfiend
I like the album as well, a lot going on in the tracks. The only thing I don't like is the production.
morfiend
So, I noticed amazon was selling the Salt box set for $46.69, which was the cheapest price I’d seen online. According to Amazon’s product listing they had 16 copies in stock, 15 once I purchased my copy. Today after I received my box set (which is beautiful btw) I checked the listing again and they bumped up the price to $58.01 even though they still had 15 copies. Anyway, I know Amazon has really strange pricing algorithms but I just found this interesting that they hiked up the price so much after selling just 1 copy.
