SeeMoreGlass
Yesterday at a random country Flea Market, I found a copy of Nirvana's Bleach for $12... I bought it not only because it was in great shape and I needed a copy of the record but also, probably one of the more bizarre finds considering it was intermixed with a bunch of Christmas records... Better prices, and the dealers probably grade their records more accurately. most of the listings are all auctions, so prices are purely based on what the customer is willing to pay. That being said something like this: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/62004788 Seems to be about twice the price on discogs: https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/121439?ev=rb

But I was laughing at the $8 Styx records and such. Those are dollar records man.

jeffnovak
Years ago (like, 2002), I was at a Salvation Army in Bristol, RI and found 6 copies of this gem: https://www.discogs.com/Christopher-Christopher/release/4760161 They were a buck a pop and had heard that it was a fairly rare one at the time, so I snagged those and a 4 ft by 3 ft velvet elvis (for $5... another steal). I ended up trading them for a whole hell of a lot of stuff over the years. Plarocks

But yeah the sleeve is where the value is on this release regardless of it coming in with no record in it.
unknown pleasures
Have to agree with Ben here, I'm sure even a great many copies of this that are sold complete with the vinyl end up having the included record "upgraded" with some better condition stray copy - this is one of those releases where all the "value" is in the sleeve. kjkenney
I always check the record pile but almost always come up with nothing. Found some Cult 12" singles the other day...priced at 24.99 a piece, no thanks. Then yesterday found a copy of Surfing by The Ventures, but oops no disc in there. Idk why I still look every time. That Fomo is real...

Black Sabbath - Vol 4, Sabotage, and Never Say Die, Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers, Goats Head Soup, and a couple Savoy Brown records. Doesn't matter, Yesterday and Today is not a sonic marvel, the late 70s/early 80s purple labels are the way to go if you want a listening copy Found a Jonathan Richman in the shrink and a shaded dog living stereo Chopin out of the $1 bin at a couple thrifts this past week, so good stuff still shows up on occasion
HORSETHIEF
Should have taken a picture, but found 4 copies back to back of Elvis g.i. blues the other day. All mint. Got super excited and pulled the first one out, heart pumping, and no vinyl. Next one, no vinyl......again, no vinyl, and on the last one pulled it out and felt how heavy it was,,,, saw into it as I picked it up, and saw 4 records stuffed into the sleeve, got ultra excited for like .001 of a second...All gouged out Disney grand canyon cap. Uugghh. I spent the next 45 minutes looking in every sleeve for the Elvis vinyl.. The goodwill and big thrift stores are a waste of time, but as was said before the mom and pop ones are still great. I moved to a small town without any music hip people and find something all the time, though usually beat up. Wild man Fischer, zappa zoot allures, captain beyond, and a couple Asian Janis and Allan bros in paper sleeves
