Don’t know how I didn’t notice when I listened to this. Then again it was all so forgettable it just went in one ear and out the other. The lights during colors in space are incredible. It was so nice to hear them do something so different and it’s become one of my top splosions albums. like god damn Edited October 9, 2018 by holyvacantsholyhell

Haha I dig this too, it’s just not what I expected fromTWDY at this point, and The Wilderness is probably in my top 5 favorite post rock albums having had time to settle and see the songs live a couple times. but this is a this will destroy you thread... Derek™
Everyone shat on Wilderness when it first dropped, it seemed, but I immediately dug it more than Take Care, and it’s really continued to age well for me, too. I would be thrilled to see some cuts from it in a live setting. Damn. Regarding new TWDY; I can see how some of the album may go in one ear and out the other. And the qualms with the production are fairly justified. But as someone who was floored by New Topia on the last album, this record channels a lot of those same lofty vibes with the occasional burst of energy. Syncage is next level, for me. batman
throwgncpr
I adored Another Language. Even ignoring the production issues (which is hard to do), New Others Part One feels like a giant step backwards. It's not bad per se, but it doesn't feel like they are pushing forward, or even matching anything they've done before. I'm hoping it'll be a grower, but after several listens, it's still pretty meh. FWIW, I loved The Wilderness immediately
holyvacantsholyhell
The Wilderness took time to grow on me fully but my adoration for it was pretty immediate. Disintegration Anxiety is too 10 splosions songs, and the title track is absolutely lovely.
zaoza
New Others Part Two will be up on spotify, bandcamp etc at midnight. After the first listen, I think it's way better than Part One. Edited October 16, 2018 by zaoza add info

holyvacantsholyhell
Sounds pretty cool so far. Production is still muddy af, but I like that the first track gets right to business.
EquinoxDesignLab
Really digging Cascade and Provoke. Production is still wack but I am liking this quite a bit more than PT.1. Went with clear to keep it cohesive.
throwgncpr
Maybe a little better than Part One, production-wise and song writing, but Part Two still feels really uninspired. I would have grabbed these at the old Magic Bullet price-points, but I can't seem to pull the trigger on these yet. holyvacantsholyhell

jonnywreck
Interesting to read all the comparisons between The Wilderness and these two albums since they had the same producer. I actually held off on listening, but I’m enjoying what I’ve heard so far.
glass realms
I'll grab part 2 from RevHQ when it goes up. I wonder if they'll have another red vinyl exclusive. Also, what's with the gimmicky "bootleg CDs" they're trying to pass off?
highfives
Looks like Part One retail will be marbled purple. https://www.amazon.com/Others-Part-This-Will-Destroy/dp/B07H5VTBJM/ref=tmm_vnl_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1539711959&sr=8-
