kjkenney
Was checking out Tripping Daisy merch and saw that their site is selling original copies of 'I Am An Elastic Firecracker' for $50. https://trippingdaisy.bigcartel.com/product/i-am-an-elastic-firecracker-vinyl-record Not sure if they are sealed or what the deal is, but it says it is the 'Original Pressing on Island Records'. Waters
If they are the same one they sold at their live shows last year, then they are original sealed copies. They brought out and sold all kinds of “new” old stuff left over from their 90’s early 2000’s hay day for sale.

Temper io
Here’s a review of the NOS LPs on Discogs: The brand new sealed copy of this I bought at the last reunion show in 2017 is not good. Lots of pops, surface noise, and low volume. Stamps were stuck to the what looked like an inner sleeves that had been in contact with moisture. I’d say buyer beware. tackman
Ok, I’m acknowledging the buyer beware from above, but I’m going for it. I love this record.

UrBoyBangs
I bought this last month. Can confirm that the pressing is so-so, but not awful. Stamps were also stuck to the inner sleeve but relatively easy to peel back off. Should be noted that there were no "new versions" of this sold at shows, they were always original leftover stock that the band had leftover. Also, shipping took like 3 weeks. Had to email their merch guy and ask if it even shipped.
ScottInDallas
I’ll ring in here as well. Purchased 3 copies last year during the reunion shows. All have surface noise and stamps were stuck to jacket Tried a thorough cleaning on my VPI 16.5 but it didn’t help.

youspinmeround
1 hour ago, Pupples said: I like it when bands flip their records Should they have just listed them for 9.99 so you could flip them? Setting them at that price insures that fans buy them and is still a deal vs what they could go for on 2nd hand market
NorrisNuts
I think $24.99 would be good a price Edited August 9, 2018 by Pupples jonnywreck

I'd pay $30 for this record, even if it was kind of fucked up. $55 isn't quite hittin me. I've bought deadstock LPs off plenty of bands, and it's normally pretty reasonable. Though a lot of bands do take into consideration secondary markets(ie. Tripping Daisy) and I can't fault them. NorrisNuts

OneThreeOneTwo
Hmmm if selling off deadstock was a means to underfund a reissue campaign I'd have hoped they'd be upfront about it like some labels like Important do via their mailorder. I wonder what Benjamin Curtis would think of this kind of thing. Between this and Secret Machines a lot of his stuff's being reissued these days. sisterofwine
Man I wish I would have seen this post last week. I’ve been struggling to find this vinyl at a price less than $300. Saw one go on sale for $100 & bought it immediately. However - mine is a “promotional, not for sale” edition and I’m not seeing the issues that you guys are reporting with the ones sold at the concerts? im still over the moon happy
