09/17/18 UPDATE: PO IS LIVE

https://themercuryprogram.bandcamp.com/album/a-data-learn-the-language

Starting a master thread for this as I believe we have enough confirmed by the band to assume that a PO announcement is imminent.

This is what we know so far and I will update as new info is released:

  • Remastered for Vinyl at Chicago Mastering Service by Bob Weston, 45RPM
  • Band is actively involved in the pressing and all details/packaging
  • PO announcement coming within 1-2 weeks
  • Color variant option
  • Possible Touring around 2nd week of November
  • Rest of  back catalog 'In the works' for vinyl re-issue

Hope that third LP doesn't drive the cost too high. I have an original but I might like to pick this up.

If they end up pressing the S/T LP I'll be happy to pick that up just to complete the discography. I have an original From The Vapor Of Gasoline and I love it. It will be really nice for more people to be able to get their hands on that one. Such a great album.

  • package image 180g Black - Limited to 250
  • package image White - Limited to 125
  • package image Blue - Limited to 75

Pre-ordered with haste and snagged a blue (although tempted to grab the black 180g) - very excited for this to finally be repressed.

Damn, i was so ready for this and missed the blue. Snagged a whitey

also, sorry about the 3LP misinformation. When I spoke to Tom in 2015 he mentioned they were going to throw a live LP on the back. Maybe that’s the /50 tour variant? Who knows

Long out of print and extremely hard to find on wax, the record has been re-cut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service and will be pressed on colored vinyl with a gate-fold sleeve. To celebrate the release, the band will head out for two weeks worth of concert dates across the East coast. These shows will include two full sets — the first set consists of songs drawn from Chez Viking (2009) and New Myths (2016), followed by a second set featuring of A Data Learn the Language performed in its entirety.

Some background: originally released in 2002 on CD by Tiger Style, the vinyl version of A Data Learn the Language was left to Counterflow Records. However, as that label became caught up in legal and financial difficulties, the bulk of the pressing mysteriously disappeared. Fewer than 100 copies wound up making it into circulation.
