PO NOW: Trivium - Ascendancy & In Waves

Recommended Posts

Looks like Ascendancy is finally getting pressed on vinyl and In Waves is getting a reissue! I couldn't find them anywhere besides Ed's, but they are due out on 12/7

does EDMS let you cancel? I NEED this but don't want to end up with it on black and miss a sick variant.

They are Music on Vinyl pressings. No colour variants:

Are you saying MOV never does more than a single variant? Or that they don't do color?

I grabbed the MOV reissue of SHOGUN last year and its on a awesome black and red marble.

If there's a colour variant, it will say so in the MoV catalog. Examples:

Both of those releases came on color vinyl originally (I own them both). Perhaps like many other MOV releases, the first run is on color vinyl with the later pressings being on standard black

OK, it looks like I have to dumb this down further.

1. Go to the Music on Vinyl catalog page for the release that interests you.

2. Does the page say that the record is coloured? If yes, go to 3. If no, go to 4.

3. It is coloured. It will most likely say how many are coloured. Here is an example: https://www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/clutch/clutch#.W8bl1lSYL5N

4.  Has the record been released yet? If it has, then there may have been a coloured variant that has already sold out. Go look it up on Discogs to find out.

      https://www.discogs.com/Swervedriver-Raise/release/12137991

5. If the record has not been released yet, then there is no coloured variant.

     https://www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/trivium/the-crusade#.W8bmsVSYL5N

     https://www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/trivium/shogun#.W8bnaVSYL5N

TL;DR: No, there is no coloured variant of these. I am 100% sure of this because I know how to use the internet to find things out.

"Dumb this down further," Fuck man, was being this big of a douche necessary? I simply said the two examples you mentioned had had color pressings before. Whether or not the web page still shows it or not is irrelevant since we for sure know they existed. Also, there is no page on MOV yet for Ascendacy or In Waves, which are the main topics of this thread (especially Ascendancy). Considering the past two times they have released a Trivium album, the initial run has had a color pressing, so we can assume there is decent odds these two will as well.

These are all up for pre order now, and all on color vinyl.

Big thanks my man! Ordering this now.

Also a big shutout to @ExtraFox  who was "100% Sure" there would be no colored variants. Nailed it on this one.

Did they charge you right away? The pre order policy in the FAQ is not 100% clear if they do or not..

Trivium's pre order policy is weird. I pre ordered Sin and the Sentence and it checks every week to see if the money is available but does not charge until ship date. If the money is not there, it cancels the order.

That is weird. They weren't clear as to whether they charge or not. It does mention that there is a pre auth, but that goes away after a few days. So it sounds like they continually pre-auth until it finally ships? I'm sure I'll be able to maintain the money in my account until it's time to buy, but I am still on the fence deciding if I need all four, or just Ascendancy. The holidays are just around the corner and it will be time for buying gifts for others....not myself.
