Jaykhaliq 0 Report post Posted January 17 Hi ive had a record player for a few years but have never had it set up properly. I have recently read that the tone arm needs to be balanced correctly to avoid damaging the vinyl. The turntable i have is a budget one however i cant find any instructions online to explain how to balance the tone arm. Can anyone experienced advise please? The turntable is made my JAM. Any help appreciated.

Any help appreciated. which model? if its the base model it looks like that has no adjustment at all unfortunately .. IF it does have a counterweight, you will need to get a stylus force gauge, look up the specs of the cartridge and look at the stylus tracking force .. usually around 2g is standard... and then adjust the couterweight until the stylus force gauge reads 2g ...
