Help identifying grado cartridge

Essentially, I'm trying to figure out how old the pieces are and then determine if they need to be replaced. Just trying to figure out the model so I know how much this is going to cost me :) Thanks again!

Stylus on those cartridges are interchangeable. If it sounds good you should be good. If your worried, buy a new stylus. I recommend the 8MZ over the Gold. Same price, but better diamond (not sure if the gold is nude or bonded).

I've never actually replaced a stylus on a turntable. What tools would you recommend? I've seen the force scales and alignment protractors mentioned in other places.

No need to do anything really. Grado gives you a tool to slide them in and out. In your case, you may need to remove the cartridge to do it, since you have a fixed headshell. Then realign it.
