I took the picture of the web image with my film camera, processed it at a supermarket, scanned it in (after I got out of jail for the other images) and here it is, ready for discogs servers. chunkrock
A little shameless self-promotion here. I joined a math rock band 6 months ago and we just released our new album. We did a pretty limited vinyl run if anyone is interested. We've been described as being "Tera Melos for stoners" by Fecking Bahamas. https://babylabour.bandcamp.com/album/kissin-hands-and-shakin-babies N8TRU, whoa, phillybhatesme and 1 other
whoa
MATH POP time. Which I think just means "just bit emo/indie with some fancy, angular guitar work now and again' but think it sort of fits the bill. Is it the BEST? No idea! I'm just keeping the thread alive! https://fesband.bandcamp.com/album/with-regards-from-home N8TRU

You liking this new album more than Memory Lame? I actually couldn’t get excited about that one. It’s by no means a bad record but it’s nowhere near as interesting (to me) as anything they did prior. buddha4281
Bronchitis
That Wax Teeth song is so similar to Made Up Dreams by Built to Spill that it might as well be a cover in some parts. Album is really good though. whoa

Yeah it's mathy, and I snapped it up with excitement but I don't revisit it near as much as Milk mouth. In fact, I still think the best of is this live performance, absolutely impeccable. Regardless, this is totally different approach, and it shows, because it's no longer a complete noodle fest, they're focusing on making some catchy moments and it's far more enjoyable. And yeah influences are worn the sleeve but in the best way. Hope this gets vinyl at some point, it's really fantastic.
faaip de oiad
Heard of these guys from my Spotify recommendations. Anyone ever hear of these guys? Just can't stop listening. Too bad they never really picked up any recognition. They only have 3 EPs. Discogs lists them as math rock/ hard core. Reminds me of an instrumental Rodan or something. faaip de oiad

whoa
https://am-overcast.bandcamp.com/album/a-m-overcast A collection of short noodling bangers with a lovely little emo-edge to it. /110 limted vinyl too for you 'muricums.
ParallelofDeath
When I was a wee lad and had lots of friends in bands, it seemed like we just intuitively knew what math rock meant, and the aforementioned Owls were the epitome of the sound, so they (and especially the first album) get my vote. Algernon Cadwallader are eerily similar, but I'll take it. Some of my friends in bands who I would consider mathy were these guys: https://clickers.bandcamp.com/album/ep002 Great energy, great live shows, and now it's all available for free, so check it out. EP 2 is a good start.
