Zakk Sabbath - Vertigo (PREORDER - LIMITED EDITION BUNDLE 500 COPIES includes Signed/ Numbered Vinyl, CD, Digital Download and DVD)

VERTIGO will celebrate the 50 yr anniversary of the debut album by Black Sabbath. Faithfully rerecorded and documented in its entirety!

Vertigo Records issued the debut album by Black Sabbath, on Friday the 13th of 1970, and the world was never the same. Legendarily recorded in a single day in October 1969, the earthmoving self-titled set closed the book on hippie optimism with its dark magic and ushered in a brand new genre, setting the metal template for decades to come.

Exactly 50 years to the date later, ZAKK SABBATH will celebrate the first chapter in the Sabbath catalog with a reverently rendered tribute, simply titled VERTIGO. Our aim is to faithfully rerecord the album in the spirit of the original recordings: live in a fully analog studio, direct to two inch tape, in a single 24 hour period. A film crew will document the process, culminating in a single album and DVD release limited to just 500 copies and delivered to purchasers on February 13, 2020.

Zakk Sabbath’s Vertigo will never be available commercially or digitally in any other format beyond these initial 500, which will be delivered in a single package containing a vinyl LP, CD, digital download code, and DVD. We’ve partnered with Magnetic Eye Records, a cornerstone of the industry strongly rooted in the very sub-genre spawned by Sabbath, to ensure maximum quality. We’re asking you to join us in our continued celebration of the greatest heavy metal band of all time and the record that started it all! Take this journey with us through this project and be among the 500 faithful to receive the total doom filled package.

In Sabbath We Trust — Zakk, Blasko, Joey

If anyone is interested in knowing about the first 500 copies they sold...

We know you're waiting anxiously, and wanted to send an update on your deluxe Zakk Sabbath "Vertigo" package.

To begin and
reassure you that things are still moving forward, here's a photo of the Vertigo 7-inch test pressing that arrived this week, which we've listened to (sounds amazing) and have approved for production:

But you might be asking, "Wait, a 7-inch?  What 7-inch?"

We'll explain:

What you were originally promised with "Vertigo" was an LP, CD, DVD and digital download, with the LP signed by the band and numbered between 1 and 500.

We've actually expanded things to create something even more impressive and special since you were first out of the gate and have waited this long.

So now, your Zakk Sabbath Vertigo package will be a limited edition Vertigo boxed set, comprising the following:

  • Deluxe gatefold Vertigo LP
  • 180-gram vinyl
  • 36-page book with exclusive photos from the recording session and the band's Feb 2020 Birmingham performance
  • Complete Vertigo album on CD
  • Complete Vertigo album via direct digital download
  • Special edition "Behind the Wall O' Doom" documentary DVD featuring behind-the-scenes studio footage and exclusive interviews about the importance of this classic album (you'll be blown away by who's interviewed!)
  • Bonus 7-inch featuring the song "Evil Woman" (originally included on the UK edition of the first Black Sabbath album) on Side A and a custom art etching on Side B
  • Deluxe collector's box with gold-foil logo and individual hand-numbering

Next steps are finishing up the printing of the LP jackets and sending to the band for signing, after which we'll get everything assembled and on its way to you.

We know you've waited longer than expected, and hope the extra goodies in your limited boxed set will help
you forget about a few short months of delay when you've finally got this titanic package in hand!

All that said, there's one more item to address, a decision made by the band following the process of making this record.  Here's their brief statement:

"We're so stoked and proud of how this album came out that we felt we had to make available a standard version for the people that missed out on the super cool package that you all are getting soon.  We know it was originally presented to you as only 500 copies ever, which is why we've asked our label to make sure that if you're unhappy with this decision, they offer you a no-questions-asked refund.

Just so it's clear, you're the only ones getting this ultra-limited signed and numbered boxed set, the only ones getting the limited edition bonus 7-inch, gold foil, hand-numbering, 180-gram vinyl, etc.  And we still won't be releasing it on any digital platforms at all.

We hope you're still into it, but if not, we get it, and we'll make sure Magnetic Eye takes care of you.

And for those who are still as stoked as we are, the wait is almost over!”

Adding to the band's statement, we agree that limiting it to only a few hundred copies doesn't do justice to the enormous impact Black Sabbath's first album has had on our lives and careers.

After all, Magnetic Eye's Redux series was created specifically to curate and share some of the most important albums from rock and metal history, and nothing embodies that spirit more than documenting and sharing the re-creation of the first Sabbath LP by Zakk Wylde.

Bottom line, neither the band or we could live with ourselves if we didn't share it with every fan of the slowest, heaviest, bluesiest metal on earth.
